The most important special election of the year, and perhaps in recent memory, is about to unfold in the Deep South in just a few months. This election cuts to the core of the divide within the party.
What we are lacking in the Republican Party
Democrats seek power while Republicans seek office as an end to itself. This is why its more important to observe what a candidate is made of rather than what he stands for in the abstract.
Judge Roy Moore is everything we say we want and expect in a Republican politician but have become accustomed to and even content with never achieving. Chief Justice Moore is a man who actually believes in our ideals in heart, mind, and soul not just sending out scam PAC fundraisers but actually implementing those ideals in practice. His ascendency to the U.S. Senate would be a game-changer for conservatives of all stripes not just social conservatives in a way we have never expected to see. Failure to mobilize will result in the seat of former Senator Jeff Sessions falling to another McConnell yes-man.

“Roy Moore has stood alone where so many others talk big”
“The Vietnam War veteran and twice-elected chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court has actually fought for everything we claim to believe in but are too scared to push in a meaningful way with real ammunition down range.”
Help him out, Alabama!!! Another real life conservative will be great in the Senate...
Anybody have his campaign website? FReepers should help the judge out. I plan to.

Roy Moore today announced he is resigning from his position as the Chief Justice of the
Alabama Supreme Court to run for the United States Senate.
“I’ll stand for the rights and liberties of the people,” Moore announced to cheering
supporters and to reporters gathered at the State Capitol.
“My position has always been God first, family then country,” Moore said. “I share the
vision of President Donald Trump to make America great again,” Moore said.
He later added, “Before we can make America great again, we’ve got to make America good again.”
Moore said a key to making that happen making sure the federal government stays
within constitutional bounds.
“We’ve got to understand that getting back to the constitution, getting back to its
restraints, are what we need in this country to make it great again.”
Moore said he has submitted his papers to resign from the state Supreme Court, a position
he was suspended from for the remainder of his term.

One of the biggest places he will need help is in the comments at al.com and calling out the reporters who slam him on Twitter.
The editor of that paper is gay, one of the most published columnist has a gay brother and the second most published columnist is extremely gay friendly.
At the Bham News, “gay” is a sacred cow and even though they lost so much readership for attacking Judge Moore over the gay marriage issue that they were forced to lay off 1/3 of their staff and only print 3 days a week, they will still go after him with a white hot hatred.
Better idea — next Supreme Court vacancy, maybe replacing Kennedy after this summer.
What’s wrong with the incumbent?
I will also donate. He deserves our support.
Moore is 70. You don't waste Supreme Court appointments on nominees that old.
Odd question to ask in this forum, when a real conservative leader like Judge Roy Moore is a possibility.
