A group of executives who want to fight global warming has published a new report calling for countries to spend up to $600 billion a year over the next two decades to boost green energy deployment and energy efficiency equipment.
The Energy Transitions Commissions (ETC) report claims additional investments of around $300-$600 billion per annum do not pose a major macroeconomic challenge, which they say will help the world meet the goals laid out in the Paris agreement.
ETC is made up of energy executives, activist leaders and investment bankers, including former Vice President Al Gore, who would no doubt get a piece of the trillions of dollars they are calling for.
ETCs goal is to accelerate change towards low-carbon energy systems that enable robust economic development and limit global warming. ETCs report comes out as the Trump administration considers whether or not to stay party to the Paris agreement, which went into effect in 2016...
Thats a $15 trillion price tag to theoretically limit future global warming.
According to Al, didn’t global warming destroy all life on earth several years ago?
“A group of executives who want to fight global warming has published a new report CALLING FOR COUNTRIED TO SPEND up to $600 billion a year over the next two decades...”
So, he means us. It sure won’t come out of his pocket.
Sell your crap and property and spend your own money.
“I say let him. Spend all you like Al.”
He is not about to spend. He is all about taking in.
Al Gore is Ernst Stavro Blofeld without the charm.
My comment stands.
With Trump it’s not coming out of our pocket.
Trump has already cut all funding to global warming projects.
He’s not about to start new ones.
And Al’s cut will be less than a trillion. Honest!
tommy steyr may kick in some bucks. I think that’s his name from silly-cone valley.
Even 1/8 of 1% as his cut, is a huge payday.
I admit it - I admire that these climate scammers think really BIG.
Reminds me of the old German postage stamps with the “20 Millionen mark”.
Woops, then they were 50 Millionen mark!
At that time Caroline had one on the White House grounds and the animal rights people demanded she “CLOTHE YOUR HORSE!”
Live it up on your own dime.
That’s the difference.
In the 60’s Kennedy gave us a goal to put a man on the moon and bring him safely back in the decade. That’s a goal. It wasn’t about the money!
Al Gore’s goal is to get $15 Trillion. His ‘goal’ if he’s serious, should be, to ‘stop global warming.’ But he doesn’t state it as that. His goal is truly to get $15 Trillion.
I would take two or three million to reduce my carbon foot print.....tax free of course
Now, my mind has changed. I think that he's an extremely shrewd conman who used his failed presidential bid to build a sucker list, which he then milked to make himself very seriously rich, indeed.
AlGore is one of the few people in the world who can fly in on his private jet, tour around in a caravan of limos, and get paid millions by liberals to flagellate them about their fossil fuel usage.
Having said that, I now wonder if he's a sadist as well as a conman. Would be a nice twofer, for him.
You are so mean! AlGore has had a very hard time of it since he left the gummint dole. Ask the massage lotion jockeys (jockeyettes?). There is actual legal testimony to back this up! It has been VERY hard.
...and we just make the check out to “Al Gore and Friends”?
Chakra stroking must be getting more expensive.

Why shouldn’t we give Al $15 trillion? He’s done so much for us.
What did we ever do without the ETC?
