Airstrikes by the Turkish military on Kurdish groups in Syria and Iraq on Tuesday has put the operation to capture the Islamic State (IS) stronghold Raqqa in danger, according to statements from Syrian Kurdish leaders.

Turkish airstrikes targeted the positions of the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG), the main group in the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which is spearheading the assault on Raqqa, killing at least 18 early Tuesday morning, Reuters reported.

Syrian Kurdish officials of the Kurdish-led autonomous administration in northern Syria have condemned the dozen or so strikes and said they could put the operation in danger if international forces did not put up a stance.

Salih Muslim: We are expecting a statement from the coalition

Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD) co-leader Salih Muslim said the airstrikes would have a negative impact on the Raqqa operation, adding, “Turkish warplanes cannot fly in the area without the coalition’s approval. The coalition needs to make a statement. Did the coalition have knowledge of the attack? How do they view this development?”

Ilham Ehmed: Attack occurred as Raqqa operation reaches final stage

Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) co-leader Ilham Ehmed, who spoke from northeastern Derik city’s Karakoch area, which airstrikes targeted, also emphasised that the coalition needed to make its stance clear.

“While the YPG is participating in the Wrath of Euphrates Operation to liberate Raqqa, Turkey is attacking our centres. We do not accept any airstrikes on our forces, whether they be Turkish, Russian or Syrian.”

Fawza Yousif: We will protect our land

A leading member of the North Syria Democratic Federation Executive Council, Fawza Yousif said Kurdish forces would stop the Raqqa operation and instead defend themselves against Turkey if the coalition and US did not stop Ankara’s attacks, Kurdish agency Roj News reported.

On the 102nd anniversary of the beginning of the Armenian Genocide, Turkey bombs an Ezidi Community in Singal Mountain. And communications center for YPG on the eve of the beginning of the end of ISIS in Syria (Raqqa).

He does not intend to allow his ISIS buddies to be destroyed.

It is TIME for Putin & Trump to step up to the plate and chain the Dog.

Or if that does not happen, it is likely the Russians will arm the Kurds and this will get really nasty.

Turkey has a long history of genocide. And has never admitted it, but always practiced it directly or by stealth. (physical or cultural genocide is what has always gone on in Turkey)

A US Marine artillery unit has been deployed to support the Kurds. No doubt they have anti aircraft missiles for their defense against our Turkish NATO allies. Turkey has always protected ISIS.

The Kurds needs to get antiaircraft missile systems ASAP and Erdogan needs another painful lesson against some target inside Turkey.

The Turks are planning an “Operation Albanians” for the Kurds. Just like the good old days of their great grandfathers.

From day one in this Mideast mess the US created with recreational regime change, the Turkey problem has loomed. The problem goes way back to when ME boundaries were drawn and the Kurds were split between three (or so) nations.

How does it end well with Turkey being in NATO while NATO and the US provide strong support of Kurds in the fight against ISIS? How can the Sauds be our friends while they enable and fund the total demise of Christianity by violent terroristic means? The first thing that has to be resolved is the contradictions.

There is a large Kurd population in Turkey. Mess with the Kurds is asking the Kurds to mess with you. If Turkey keeps it up, there will be retaliation inside of Turkey. I thought that after WW II there would be World Peace, it looks like its still a myth.

If the Kurds have anti-air capability the Turkish campaign will be short and unsuccessful. Arming the Kurds will end our relationship with Turkey. Fine. Build a new air Base in Kurdish territory. Or, ask Israel to provide the anti air weapons.

Well they had best think twice.

Russia is involve in Syria. US is staunch backer of Kurds & SDF war against ISIS.

The Dog, had best rethink his arrogance.

I don’t want this to become an open conflict.

I want ISIS ended and some kind of peace. If that requires punishing Turkey to get it done? So be it.

USA: the Turk caliph must be opposed. Do it now.
Do not allow their next moves which are obvious. More Islamic caliph, covert and overt evil.
Turkey cannot remain in Nato.

Isis is like a bacterial infection. If just one organism gets away the whole infection will start all over. A suitable host is anywhere Muslim lives.
