Then you already know about using it sparingly. Mrs. dweller made some mashed sweet potatoes once and added WAY too much. Blecch! I haven't used it on cold things but it does dissolve readily in hot liquids.
What is that and where can I get some?
Five cents each, six for a quarter.
Hot cocoa made from French or is it Belgium cocoa powder is what I have. I make fudge about every 8 years and give most of it away. After one piece I feel insanely awful although it tastes good.
Given the choice, my house is partial to Ghirardelli. Not that we turn Lindt down.
Hershey actually owns Cadbury. Brother was A district manager for many many years. Used to have Hershey candy coming out our ears. Lol
Dark chocolate, yes. But how much chocolate is actually in a Hershey bar these days? I would guess not much.
I love everything in the See’s “Summer Mix” ... Summer’s coming right up!
So true!
It’s a fancy way of saying.. “we’re going to make smaller candy bars and charge more under the guise of improving the product.”
Half the size but the same price.
Wax helps to hold the shape and harden. The “more” is just filler. IOW, lower quality. Watch people start switching brands.
True.
A lot of issues drive this...
I spent 10 years in the wholesale candy business catering to vending machine operators...
Many companies that have vending machines (most) have to comply with health insurance company mandates to limit things like candy to get their discounts...
Also as the country gets older we eat less and less candy. If I eat some candy, it’s normally a kiss or a mini size...
I can’t handle a large candy bar any more...
Cadbury already has made changes. There was a thread before Easter about smaller eggs.
This, http://www.bravotv.com/blogs/are-favorite-easter-candies-like-cadbury-creme-eggs-shrinking , talks about how a few years ago, they went from 6 to a box to 5 for the same price. Today, there are 4 to a box and have lost 6 grams in weight each.
Goes right along with that half gallon of ice cream that shrank to 1.75 quarts and even 1.5 quarts while the price not only stayed the same but in most cases went up. Sure the sheeple asked for it, don’t all sheep ask to be shorn?
The bottom of the barrel is the Hershey Highway
Same price for less chocolate that tastes worse. No thanks.
