JERUSALEM (JTA) — Two Palestinian sisters attempting to cross into Israel from the Gaza Strip so that one could receive cancer treatment were caught smuggling explosives.
The explosives, used in the production of homemade bombs, were hidden in tubes carried by the women labeled “medical materials,” the Shin Bet security service said in a statement issued Wednesday evening, hours after the women were stopped at the Erez Crossing.
The sisters were approved for entry into Israel so that one could receive potentially life-saving treatment for her illness.
According to the Shin Bet statement, a preliminary investigation showed that the explosives were sent by Hamas be used in a terrorist attack on Israeli targets in the “near future.”
The incident “attests to the ongoing efforts by terrorist organizations based in the Gaza Strip, especially Hamas, to exploit Israel’s humanitarian initiatives and the medical assistance that it provides to residents of the Gaza Strip, in order to perpetrate attacks in Israel,” the Shin Bet said.
The women are being held for questioning.
Defense Ministry Crossings Authority Director Brig.-Gen. (ret.) Kamil Abu Rokon praised the Erez Crossing security inspectors for thwarting the smuggling bid.
“To our regret, it has been proven again that Gaza Strip-based terrorists are continuing their efforts to exploit the humanitarian channel in order to carry out attacks in Israel,” he said in a statement. “The security inspectors acted exactly as expected, with exemplary professionalism.”

There is a great book "Because They Hate: A Survivor of Islamic Terror Warns America" by Brigitte Gabriel. She is a Christian Lebanese woman whose family was caught up in the civil war in Lebanon back in the Seventies. She tells how, even as a Christian, she was bathed in, and believed, the slander that people in the Arab world believes and propagates against jews. When her family was injured in an artillery barrage between warring forces in Lebanon, her mother was taken across the border to Israel for treatment and she was astonished at the humanity and decency the Israelis showed to them. They gave them food, clothes, money, kindness, and personal generosity.
She realized then how much the Arab world lies to its people, and they believe it.
I had a chance to hear her speak in person, she was brilliant and aggressive in her outspoken criticism of Islam. The whole time she was on stage, she had a huge, armed guard within an arms reach of her the entire time. She said she is openly threatened with death by many in the Arab world, but still speaks out.
That woman has guts.

Sure there is. Let them use the explosives on themselves, then send the resulting goo back to their parodies of parents. That WILL cure the cancer! Israel was willing to let them in for a humanitarian purpose, and they tried to repay that with murder. They could serve no higher purpose than to become goo.
New “treatment” .. let them keep the explosives ... as they are detonated.

This just illustrates that it is not enough to stop the young Jihadi males. They will just be replaced by these unfeeling hateful machines by the dozens. It suggests a more comprehensive approach.
