The Murdochs have decided Bill O’Reilly’s 21-year run at Fox News will come to an end. According to sources briefed on the discussions, network executives are preparing to announce O’Reilly’s departure before he returns from an Italian vacation on April 24. Now the big questions are how the exit will look and who will replace him.
Wednesday morning, according to sources, executives are holding emergency meetings to discuss how they can sever the relationship with the country’s highest-rated cable-news host without causing collateral damage to the network. The board of Fox News’ parent company, 21st Century Fox, is scheduled to meet on Thursday to discuss the matter.

Since when do we hire someone based on their personal life? Personal life should have NO impact on someone’s job performance. I haven’t seen Hollywood stop releasing Woody Allen movies and nominating them for awards.
If O’Reilly gets prosecuted and convicted then they can let him go. Until then we have nothing but allegations. And they are decidedly UN-serious. Sexual harassment was supposed to mean you can’t tell someone they have to have sex with you or they’re fired. The left has broadened the definition massively just as they’ve broadened the definition of “sexual assault” to mean anything a normal man might do in the presence of a woman.
Caving in on this issue is not just about O’Reilly and a TV show, but about giving into the left on the whole idea of criminalizing masculinity. This issue encapsulates so many things about the left’s transformation of America into a litigious society where everyone is afraid to do anything because of lawyers. And about their modern brand of man-hating feminism and “social justice,” where being white and male is an admission of guilt on anything they can think of.
Everything ends eventually.
I wonder what’s next for Fox and for O’Reilly.

Steyn could be a terrific choice. I don’t watch/listen enough to anyone to know who the best options are, but Steyn has struck me as an extraordinary talent.
And she stayed on his show for 4 months after the supposed proposition took place. And she sucked on the air. I thought the segment he created using her and another woman was terrible. The women had nothing of intelligence or clarity to contribute to the show. It was obvious that segment was never going to last.
There is absolutely no evidence showing that O’Reilly fired anyone because they turned him down for a sexual encounter, and that is the ONLY thing that sexual harassment can be reasonably defined as.
Do you want your boss to come in and say he heard you weren’t getting along with your wife, or might have cheated on her, so you’re fired?
If someone did that to a WOMAN, the social justice whiners would be accusing them of sexism SO fast and be collecting multi-million dollar lawsuit judgments within weeks.
People on this board need to understand what side of the fight they’re on. If even you people don’t know when the left is trying to beat you and you need to fight back, then the cause of defeating them as a force in our society is hopeless.
I wonder if O’Reilly would transfer over to CR TV or the Blaze, and give those alternative networks a valuable boost in their prominence. This could be a blessing in disguise if he could be used to build up ratings for an alternative network where the rest of it is more conservative than him rather than less.
If my boss came into my office and said HR is getting many complaints from female employees about comments and behavior, I'd be out quick.
And Bill O'Reilly is a public figure, probably the most famous person at Fox News, so apples and orangutans.

Tucker Carlson would be good replacement; maybe Waters in earlier slot though not sure if he's ready for serious role yet.
