The White House proposed a $5.7 billion budget for EPA in fiscal 2018. Thats a 31 percent cut from 2017 numbers.
A 31 percent cut to the Environmental Protection Agencys budget would force it to eliminate at least 50 individual programs and nearly 4,000 full-time equivalents in 2018, according to internal EPA documents that describe funding levels and policy decisions that support the President Donald Trumps 2018 budget request.

Not nearly enough!
Cut, baby, cut!!
Good start!
I thought Nixon started the EPA.
Don’t forget the frog and salamander counters at the Corps of Engineers and the USFWS.
They need to face a major RIF too.
Layoffs and firings would be cheaper than buyouts. Too bad congress has to get involved.
Agreed, many staffers should simply be given walking papers.
Or they could use a real world solution like cutting their pay to just above minimum wage, reduce them to 28 hours or less a week and drop all their benefits making them go on Medicaid.
Yes!!!!
I’d have every one of them sumbiches dressed up in a hazmat suit cleaning up the worst sites I could find.
The Corps of Engineers single handedly destoyed the Missouri River basin.
He did.
I love it! From the article linked above the document that shows the programs being cut. http://192.168.1.1:8181/http://1yxsm73j7aop3quc9y5ifaw3.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Combined_EPA.pdf

Winning!
He did. At the time it made sense. It has since then morphed into an out of control regulatory monster. Now is time to kill it and let the states be the good stewards of their clean air and water.
Budget cuts at the EPA? How will they be able to dump heavy metals into the Animas river now?
