It’s 50% plus one vote, not 51%.

Hey everyone, I just got here. Before we talk about the election, does anyone know what timezone Georgia is in? I think Pacific.

Live Analysis by Nate Cohn »
Ossoff’s attrition should probably slow down a bit now that so much of Cobb County is in, but still tracking toward a 48/48.5 type finish

why is this so confusing to people? Cant anyone look up simple information anymore? Here's a text I sent to a friend from the San Francisco airport in 2015: "At SFO, guy is griping his tix have takeoff, flight time, no arrival time. Me: Oh that's easy math. Him: Yeah if you know what time zone NORTH CAROLINA IS IN!"

It’s 50.00% + 1 vote to avoid a run-off.
To: Zenjitsuman
No just 50% plus one is needed, i.e., a simple majority.

Well, technically, 50.000000000001%
If 300,000 vote, the winner needs 150,001 to win outright.
149,999 ? It’s a run-off.

Bill MitchellVerified account @mitchellvii 4m4 minutes ago Ossoff down to 50.8% with just 40% in
40% of the precincts. Probably about 65% of the actual vote.
This is going to be uncomfortably close.

I am not so sure that the carpetbagger will continue to nose dive under 50%. DeKalb could help him as will the ballots just now being discovered in the trunks of the rat operatives.

I lived in Arizona and worked in California, but Arizona didn’t recognize daylight savings, so in summer I lived on Pacific daylight time.

Ossoff down to 50.8% with just 40% in Um, no. There have been about 127,000 votes counted, that is way more than 40%.
