RIP Turkey, 1921 – 2017

Recep Tayyip Erdogan didn’t just win his constitutional referendum — he permanently closed a chapter of his country’s modern history... Whether they understood it or not, when Turks voted “Yes”, they were registering their opposition to the Teşkilât-ı Esasîye Kanunu and the version of modernity that Ataturk imagined and represented. Though the opposition is still disputing the final vote tallies, the Turkish public seems to have given Erdogan and the AKP license to reorganize the Turkish state and in the process raze the values on which it was built.

I work with a Turkish national. He told me tonight that one of his relatives worked at a polling station in Turkey during the vote. He said he spoke to his relative who told him there were 321 registered voters in the precint and 421counted votes. He said ergodon definitely rigged it

Erdogan is a criminal. Probably more communist than muslim. I doubt he even respects the muzzie religion if thats what you call it.He and his son Bilal will take Turkey back decades and make a terror state of it pilfering it for all they can and then retiring somewhere safe.Sound familiar?

You think a country that had rulers with dozens or hundreds of concubines, and eunuchs minding them and many men with up to 4 wives, there weren’t plenty of people seeking pleasure in any possible combination. The first link below is a rather idealized view written from a middle east/Muslim Indian perspective. The second one is written from a strong Christian perspective. The third is a whole scholarly book on the subject.

Don’t forget the way the Muslim party crowd in Tampa seduced Gen. Petraeus. How much influence do they have on the major US military command stationed there?

Well this is what we have in this nation as a result of this last administration and prior. It’s a Dam*ned if you do Dam*ned if you don’t situation as they need them for intelligence and as translators.

They can only influence those without a practicing faith base of their own...”the enemy goes about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour”....Islamists will always try to recruit.

Petraeus was vulnerable to begin with.....he was there long term and involved in a sorted affair. He really didn’t have it together as much as he led others to believe. Left himself wide open.

Oh, I did't say they didn't have every perversion in the book, I'm saying they were given an impossible choice. Those alternative lifestyles are kept on the down low in an Islamic society. I've seen first hand their "compounds" where females are given the choice of prison or to be a prostitute. There were probably some sections catering to the gay or trans lifestyle even back then that I didn't see but again; this is kept out of the public's eye. If there were any gay people in Turkey while I was there; I never saw them that I knew of.

Anyone think Europe has the faith necessary to defeat the Muslims like they did in 1683?

This is one example (from Gary Potter (in “Saint Mary of Victory – The Historical Role of Our Lady in the Armed Defense of the Faith”):

“When it became known that no fewer than 300,000 Turks were advancing on the imperial capital, Pope Innocent ordered that rosaries be recited in the religious houses and churches of Rome. The same prayers of supplication were offered throughout the Empire.”

Turkey turns from the West.

As sad as the results of the vote are - it is the west, specifically Europe, that has repeatedly given Turkey the cold shoulder. Instead of embracing the efforts that Turkey made to become more "European", they were continually rebuffed - not even the betrayal of the US during the 2nd Gulf War was sufficient to court enough favor with the EU.

It was only a matter of time before an Erdogan could rise and reverse the course that Turkey followed.

They denied the Armenian holocaust during that whole period. They never were a real republic.

Let’s put it this way: Islam can NEVER be trusted to completely sit in the background.

And as such, it is likely to rear its ugly head in full-blown form at times.

As they say, “There are no atheists in foxholes.” When Europe finds themselves staring into the abyss, they’ll find religion.

Seems to me that the people of Turkey won and the EU lost.

Are you crazy? No man living under Sharia Law is better off.

I wonder how the Young Turks will respond to this....

The Young Turks would cheer for a re-emergence of the Black Plague if they knew it would weaken the Trump Administration.

As I understand it, the people IN Turkey voted against this, and the vote was swayed by all the Turks living in Europe. My BIL and all his Turkish friends hate this guy!
