Well CNN in this Youtube vid seems to be correct here, Trump said one thing on the campaign trail and now is doing another.
Yes, it is amazing that CNN is finally covering presidential vacation costs.
But two important distinctions, Trump is actually visiting his real home from his temporary White House residence. The 2nd is that if Trump were not president he could still do the same thing.
One point I would like CNN to answer is how much is Trump charging the GVT (e.g., Secret Service) to stay at Mar A Largo?

Something that was revealed during the last Presidency about the WH few seem to know much about. The POSTUS put off security renovations until he left the WH. It was thought to be Trump would not be able to stay in the WH during the first year of his Presidency. The trips to Mar A Largo are due to these security renovations. I never heard that he ever returned to that Chicago home. I’d love to know the details of why he never did and did he actually own it? Just like McAuliffe shelling out for the Chappaqua shack. Republicans, at least, buy their own!

NO QUESTION about that. The media has done great damage to our country, perhaps beyond repair.
Within the Mar-A-Lago complex, he should be bug-free. But anytime he calls outside, he’s vulnerable to bugging by our own intelligence agencies because he’s then on public networks.
It was great to see President Xi entertained at Mar-a-Lago. And the Chinese were probably more comfortable there — and probably they were able to accomodate more visitors than the White House would permit.
Trump planned Mar-A-Lago as his potential Camp David decades years ago as people were asking him if he might run for President. The guy is a fantastic visionary and planner.
And I wouldn’t be surprised if two or three years ago, Ivanka had her kid studying Chinese so some sort of tribute for the Chinese.
Diplomacy is nothing more than a business Art of the Deal raised to a global scale where things like import tariff threats and weapons of mass destruction are added to the mix.

He did not figure in that Melania and Barron would not be moving with him to the white house and he sees them at Mar Largo. He can not fly to and visit Trump Towers to see his family because of the security mess it would make. Also he meets with foreign leaders there and the first lady is there to hang out with the wives. He gets to hang out with Barron.
Good point, Daniel. Trump is working for us almost 24/7.
Every visit there has been marked by progress on the diplomatic front.

What a great post! Here I was all those years in NYC thinking that Trump was doing nothing more than building and occasionally sending out volleys from Trump Tower about crime and other indignities. And he was probably doing all the planning you suggest. Amazing.

OK, I’ll defend your right to free speech on this forum, Outrage, especially as you’ve defended yourself admirably.
We can’t make FR an echo chamber. And this particular beef about Trump is a fair counter to the frequent posts about Obama’s vacations — even though we all hate the Fake CNN.
And knowing Trump’s dedication, he should keep doing what he’s doing. Entertaining the Chinese at his own place is not only perfectly legitimate, the Chinese and Japanese loved it.
And he met the nasty Merkel at the White House. Ha! MAGA.
I don’t think you get it....Weekends ARE NOT Vacations. Now if he was going to California to golf and surf...yeah, that’d be a Vacation.
