A former United States Marine who traveled to New Jersey with a gun he legally owned but which was not registered in New Jersey is facing three years in prison for firearm law violations.
The three years is the minimum sentence that former Marine Sergeant Hisashi Pompey has to serve before he can even be eligible for parole under New Jerseys strict gun control laws.
ABC 7 reports that Pompey did three tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan for which he received medals for bravery. He was a military police sergeant.

Read the knife laws too before going someplace new and unfriendly. I’ve occasionally been surprised at what tools are banned.
LOL! Yup. I was asked to exit a casino in Abq because I had a Leatherman multi tool in a pouch on my belt. Once placed in the car I was free to lose as much as I liked.
“Perhaps you should do your homework!

I guess you didn’t read the article. The delay was prompted by Reyna finally giving a massive amount of information he’s been withholding from the defense attorneyss that is actually in violation of the law. So I get it that you think anyone YOU DEEM TO BE A CRIMINAL WITHOUT A TRIAL, should just be put to death because they “deserve it,” is that about where you are with the criminal justice system?
So your point is that by banning certain types off non-automatic firearms then that state does not recognize the Second Amendment?
Not just that. You know what kind of ridiculous restrictions California has.
As I understand it, there are now restrictions on purchasing ammunition.
If you travel I-95 frequently from Whitopia (ME-NH-VT) to the Swamp, as I do, the Blue Wall of CT-NY-NJ-MD is a massive inconvenience (I have a VA permit).
Connecticut does, in theory, have a non-resident mechanism, but you have to get it from the police chief of a town, which, if you have no presence in the state is impossible. NJ has one but AFAIK has never issued one. MD and NY do not.

ROTFLMAO! You don’t get nothing.
“ROTFLMAO! You dont get nothing.”
Actually, I do! And FWIW the word is ANYTHING, not NOTHING. But I guess where you live “nothing” is “proper English.” But then where I am, we don’t have used appliances in our front yards along with derelict cars, and our homes don’t have wheels.
But you have a nice day anyway, eating your poke salad and chasing the Armadillos on the roads with your car.
I took I-81 to the Poconos even though it made the trip longer so I would only be in Maryland for a brief period and avoid DC altogether.
When I accidently found myself in NJ, I got off at the first exit and high-tailed back across the bridge.
I’m not going any farther north.
“As I understand it, there are now restrictions on purchasing ammunition.”
Not true yet!
So you can still order ammo on line for delivery to your home?
Yes!
Good, I thought they were looking to end that and restrict what you could buy in state.
” But then where I am, we dont have used appliances in our front yards along with derelict cars, and our homes dont have wheels.”
ROTFLMAO. You sure have a strong imagination ... and a strong desire to paint other people with that imagination.
Just as you have wrongly portrayed gangsters as the good guys.
” But then where I am, we dont have used appliances in our front yards along with derelict cars, and our homes dont have wheels.”
My HOA fees are $4000 a year to keep crap like you out.
“And FWIW the word is ANYTHING, not NOTHING. But I guess where you live nothing is proper English. “
Obviously the meaning of my post went over your head. Not unexpectedly.

The info was delivered prior to last November. Here is why some of it was further delayed.
