President Trump changes stance on 4 campaign positions in just 1 day

Over the course of just one day, President Trump declared different positions than he took during the campaign on four issues.

In an interview with The Wall Street Journal and at a press conference on Wednesday, President Trump declared that China is not a currency manipulator, entertained the possibility of re-appointing Janet Yellen as chair of the Federal Reserve, asserted that NATO is a relevant alliance and expressed a favorable view of the Export-Import Bank.

On Thursday, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer portrayed the shifts as reactions to changing circumstances rather than an ideological modification.

President Trump's campaign promises are larger than these individual items.

He hasn’t proposed anything yet

Wait and see his actions.

Events are fluid. So does ABC expect Trump to not change policies or positions when the dynamics change ?

If it was Obama they would praise him for being able to pivot on a dime when the dynamics change...

What unkept promises?

He has done everything he can by EO. Blame congress for not having a health bill ready. They have had eight years

I am very grateful for him for slaying the dragon that is HRC.

That said, we need a better and more trustworthy nominee for 2020.

“Not who I donated $400 bucks to....I want my money back.”

Get it back and send it to Hillary, his last and I’m sure next opponent. I have no doubt she’ll accept it.

And where does congress get your anger. They are the ones taking vacations and lobbyists money instead of working with Trump

Trump has already accomplished much. Give him time

What a load of crap. Trump got major concessions from China on NK and on trade. He's still pressuring NATO members to pay more.

This is more fake news from liberal media combined with grumbles from Never Trumpers.

The dimensional level is beginning to grow exponetially. Soon we will have to put a power level exponent next to the level number to explain away the inconsistancies.

All these negative waves. Would you all rather have had Bug Lady

It's beginning to look like it makes no difference who is President. Goldman Sachs and the Deep State run things.

In America, the Swamp drains you.

Well, it’s barely Wednesday. I expect him to flip back by Saturday

You'd have peed your pants if he had agreed to $2 of spending cuts (in the future that never ended up happening) for $1 tax increases like Reagan.

Whine, whine, whine....

Trump is non-ideological...he’s pretty much looking for expediency in all situations. So like a businessman, not a politician. Apparently lots of people forgot that. On the Left they are nothing but ideological. Here at FR it’s pretty much the same, just opposite ideologies. The non-ideological will be nothing but frustrating to those whose thinking and processes are guided by their ideology.

Trump is going to be very frustrating for many here - because of his complete lack of ideological foundation. However, he may accomplish a tremendous amount - some of which you’ll like and some of which you won’t - and put the country on much more solid practical footing economically and militarily because of his lack of ideology and persistent business-like obsession with accomplishment and deals.
