For Oregon Representative Sal Esquivel, a Republican who has served in the statehouse for 12 years, the Trump administrations hard line immigration stance is long overdue.
Sal Esquivel: This is America. We have borders. We have laws. We're a nation of laws, so therefore we should adhere to those laws, and we should not ignore the laws that we don't want to adhere to.
Sal Esquivel: The state needs to get its act together. And comply with federal law.
As Attorney General Jeff Sessions recently made clear, federal law requires cities and counties to work with immigration authorities.

Rio!! I have property in the State of Jefferson! Hi, neighbor!
In OREGON!!! Thank you for introducing me to a Republican in Oregon. I see from time to time Richardson doing good things...so hard and uphill all the way.

Sal is one of the few real conservatives left in Oregon, he’s fighting the libs with all he’s got.
Hello, Sweetheart! How are you? I’ve been away.
I think maybe his family came from the Basque are of either Spain or France. The name Esquivel is of Basque lineage.
Still kicking. And hoping that this all ends up clearing out large portions of occupied California. Good to see you posting.
It’s important to know your neighbors.
“I think maybe his family came from the Basque are of either Spain or France. The name Esquivel is of Basque lineage.”
Actually, Sal’s dad was Mexican, probably Spanish decended.
[snip from an article on my FB page]
Once in a while, a decent politician steps forward to turn into a Statesman. Such is Dist. 6 Representative Sal Esquivel of Oregon. Recently he was on Neil Cavuto, doing what he does best, looking out for US! I have known Sal Esquivel since we were school mates. He’s the real deal. Sal’s ‘Pop’ as he called him, came LEGALLY to the USA under the Bracero program and taught his kids to be Americans first. 100%.
In an interview for an article meant to pull at your heart strings (Driving while Brown) about Latino’s’ thinking they get targeted for tickets, Rep. Esquivel said:
Maybe they drive different in Mexico, said Esquivel, a Republican from Medford, whose father came to Southern Oregon from Mexico as a guest worker in 1945 and later became a U.S. citizen. If they break the law, they break the law. Thats the end of the discussion as far as Im concerned.
Fox News’ Neil Cavuto says Oregon is ‘a mecca for illegals’ in interview with Medford lawmaker

Pro Trump immigration ping!
Nice to hear—please thank him for us!
“Nice to hearplease thank him for us!”
I will, 9yearLurker.
Thanks for correcting me on Sal’s family lineage. I got my “Basque” info merely by Googling “Esquivel name”. All the top links suggested the name originated as a Basque name.
Wuli, the lineage may be Basque, for all I know. Sal got all the good looking genes.:<)
Hi, AuntB!
It’s great seeing you here!
Thank you for bringing Sal to our attention.
The real deal? That’s a pretty high recommendation. Guess we’ll have to keep an eye on him. :-)
Seriously, thanks and I’ll keep him in my prayers.
