I assume this Washington Post story is true: “FBI obtained FISA warrant to monitor former Trump adviser Carter Page.” It confirms what has been sporadically reported since late last year, that the Obama administration sought and ultimately received a FISA order to spy on at least one associate of Donald Trump. So Trump’s famous tweets were, in substance, true.

UPDATE: We are now starting to get a picture of how sinister this whole Democratic Party misinformation campaign is. Through the last half of 2016, the Obama administration was desperately searching for evidence of some link between the Trump presidential campaign and Russia. They went to the length of seeking (twice, reportedly) and finally obtaining a FISA order that allowed them to spy on at least one insignificant Trump associate.
In addition, we now know that Susan Rice headed up an operation whereby raw NSA intelligence was sifted for names of Trump associates, no doubt in hopes of uncovering dirt of some sort.* And we also know that these efforts came up dry. The Obama administration found no compromising information about Trump or any of his associates.
Nevertheless, ever since the Inauguration the Democratic Party, especially its press wing in Washington and New York, has relentlessly pushed the Trump/Russia story. What story? There isn’t one. But that hasn’t stopped Democrats in the press from talking about little else for the last three months.
And yet, all along, the Democrats have known that their spying produced nothing. This whole story is almost unbelievably sordid. The relevant Congressional committees should investigate thoroughly, and criminal prosecutions should follow where laws have been broken.
It is time to get to the bottom of the Obama spy scandal.

That the NSA didn’t unmask the information initially, plus later investigations finding NO collusion between Russia and Trump have proven that whatever suspicions Rice may have had to justify the unmasking were absolutely wrong, or more likely non-existent.

1. When did you request the unmasking, and from which agency? Who in that agency actually did the unmasking? Please provide the written requests you submitted.
2. Once the names were unmasked, did you still believe there was a threat to national security from the named US persons?
3. If so, with whom did you share the information, and what actions were taken to protect America?
4. If not, then you should not have shared the names with anyone else, so how did the names become known?
5. Why was any of this info deliberately withheld on the FISA application?

The FISA warrant(s) themselves were actually leaked yesterday!
Astounding. So much for the talking point that the FISA warrants didn’t even exist.

So, let me see if I understand this correctly. Obama fabricated BS to get a FISA warrant on some no-name Trump campaign adviser so obama could “legally” spy on the whole Trump organization and turn the information over to Hillary. Then, when they unexpectedly lost they immediately transformed their illegal actions into the false Russian narrative to provide them cover if/when Trump should eventually expose the wiretapping. Remember - they, like 99.9999999999999% of the rest of the world thought Hillary would win, and therefore no one would find out about their illegal spying.
So, as usual ,and despite the usual enemedia jeering, Trump was correct after all: he was being wiretapped.
Yup, just straight out spying with plausible denial from a third world banana republic wanna-be dictator. For himself and his soon to be crowned queen Hillary. Straight out of Venezuela and Cuba.
It is my hope Jeff Sessions and the FBI have hired thousands of agents and ancillary staff to focus on this spying and the Clinton emails/server/Foundation/quid pro quo scandals. This stain on our republic has to be investigated, prosecuted and sentenced or it will certainly happen again. Also, the laws need to be tightened up so the next Susan Rice, Obama and Hillary can't just willy nilly spy on political opponents and use bogus plausible denial excuses.
As an aside, there was a guy on Levin last night that basically said if, in this process, a name needed to be unmasked, it would have been done at the the NSA or CIA to see if there was a national security issue. If not, the name was masked again and, if requested, say by Rice, there would be no need to unmask it. "We already did it, so why do you need this?"
Evidently, I read somewhere, Rice's request was denied by the lower level NSA people when she first requested the information for this very reason. She then had a fit, went up the hierarchy until the request was granted.
As I understood it, the NSA and CIA did their job and 'took care' of any need to unmask and the guy basically said there would never be a need to repeat the process by a WH staffer. Didn't get the guy's name, but it's on Levin's rewind. He would be a good witness when Gowdy et al start the questioning.

They never considered losing the election so the cover story and necessary ground work, never laid.
"it's the Russians"! - a gift & the chance to escape. That's why the claim "Russians hacked the election" as rediculous as it sounds, was shouted by the dems/left/media.
And any new info that came to light, the "it's the Russians" claim just steered right around it or with it. It must be accepted as post discovery of the original justification otherwise, the truth will stand out -high crimes & treason of 0bama's admimistration.

You could look at it that way. But I think they knew the real poll numbers were not favoring their girl. They planned some voter fraud that fell through. Alot of voter fraud worked especially with the dead and the illegals. But not enough.

No - if 'catnipman', above, has it right - they manufactured the Russian link to Page so they could have a justification for the FISA warrant. This was to give the the requisite "cover" to then spy on the campaign.
Think of it this way: they wanted to spy on the campaign, using all of the broad capabilities of the US intelligence agencies, particularly the NSA. Someone within the administration came up with the idea to work the system - that is, to find someone in the Trump campaign that had spoken with any Russian that could be plausibly tied to Russia's espionage activities. Then leverage that contact to eavesdrop on the REAL targets - Trump and his campaign staff.
No he can't because the intelligence community would not go along with it.
And they would leak private conversations with foreign countries like Australia.... etc. etc.
I do notice that the leaks promptly stopped right after Trumps tweet that he was “wire tapped” and the spotlight was focused squarely on the intelligence agencies.
I blame the leaker(s) for revealing that the agencies do spy on Americans which probably happens a lot and might be legal. I hope that person or persons is feeling the heat right now.
