One of President Trump’s campaign promises was to build a wall along the border of the United States and Mexico to help curb illegal immigration and cartel violence and drugs which have been plaguing our country for years.

The wall is set to kick off in the San Diego border community of Otay Mesa, U.S. Customs and Border Protection confirmed Monday according to the San Diego Union Tribune. Although the construction is beginning with prototypes, there are documents revealing that wall construction will start in San Diego, CA.

“should have at least another 10 feet of coils of concertina wire on top.”

That’s like the private homes in South Africa.:-)

I have no mantra but what I do have is ANY rumor designed to split Trump’s support should automatically be disbelieved.

Since you insist on a mantra, I will adopt one - The War Will Be Built.

Parts of the wall will be in court for years. Much of the Texas land is private property that goes down to the water. Many of those folks don't want a wall. How will the cattle get water? A ton of issues that need to be solved.

However, The Wall is the main reason I voted for Trump, although, other issues were important, too. I don't expect the wall overnight or in a year. I understand it will take years, but I am OK with that as long as these issues are being worked on to a resolution.

There are certainly NeverTrumpers out there.

But the term is also used VERY loosely around here against anyone who disagrees with him on Anything.

I’m beginning to see the effects of the missile attack in a beneficial way (spooking China, Russia etc) but I was against it at first.

Got called so many things and even one FReeper said that he noticed something “different” about me since I joined the board three years ago.

I’m quite sure he was referring to my sexual preferences :)

I’m not a NeverTrumper or an AlwaysTrumper.

I’m a person with my own mind who overwhelmingly likes what he’s doing.

Fences are for fairies and snowflakes. 10” thick concrete slabs 40’ tall set 10’ in the ground and topped with razor wire. Anyone observed scaling the US side will be shot.

Law enforcement is a major solution factor with the illegals, however there is still the issue of drugs coming over the border. It’s tough throwing tons of cocaine over a 30’ wall.

Makee ponds, canals, moats, whatever, on US side of wall. Makee deal with pump and pipe makers if necessary.

Good grief, there are at least 2 perched or partially perched lakes (2018 acre for the larger, fully perched cooling [power plant] lake, 450 acres for the smaller, created for waterfowl) within 3 hours drive of my home: Most of their water is pumped in from nearby waterways.

If we can pump water into 450 acre lakes for geese, or 2018 acre perched lakes for power plant cooling, we can sure as heck get water to cattle.

"How will the cattle get water?"

I suppose that they will pipe Rio Grande water into a long trough on the US side of the wall. To keep the water from going stagnant, they will have fresh water coming in from the river and going back out. Solar panels will power the pumps.

I thought Ca already had a wall.

You are correct. Cali was the first to get part of the '96 wall but it does not have the President Trump wall.

You know it is out with the old and in with the new American tax money

put me down for opening ceremonies!

Wouldn't that be "closing ceremonies" when they shut the gate on the invading hordes. That will be a beautiful day.

Sorry to here that Texas will have to wait so long though. Oh well. Texas has been defending its border for some time now on its own and I guess it can do it for a while longer until President Trump's wall gets here.

Ofc getting the Congress to resolve the budget issue is a challenge.

WHAT? Mexico is paying for it.

Why should our Congress be involved in the budget stream

I think you’e being facetious!

Anyway, Tijuana is a massive border. Lots of turnstiles and ICE agents checking everyone’s papers. MASSIVE lines of cars backed up for hours with dogs sniffing for drugs and people. Most cars are stopped, many are searched extensively.

But, outside of Tijuana, California borders with Mexico are pretty much non-existant ... just walk right through, no one cares.

10' ain't near deep enough. We found tunnels that were over 20' deep. It is evident you do not know what we are dealing with and should leave the planning to others.

I do like the shooting part and have always thought that would be a major deterrent. But, why not both ways just for the fun of it?

It’s tough throwing tons of cocaine over a 30’ wall.

There you go again.

They found an air cannon that was constructed to shoot 20 kilo cocaine "rounds" over the fence near San Diego on the Mexican side. It was similar to one of those pumpkin cannons. We are talking about big money and if there is a will there is always going to be a way around a deterrent.

If I was elected POTUS the first thing I would do is order a rapid troop deployment to the border ... sure you’re not going to cover all of it or even much of it but it would have an immediate effect ... you could move deployments around (and it might be really interesting what fish turned up in the net at the end of each day)
