My understanding is there were 4 customers ordered (unfairly) to leave due to the overbooking. Were the three that left without requiring security thanked as well?

Affirmative action hire?

The mental instability and ineptitude in not rationally deniable.

This idiot should have been apologizing both profusely and publicly over the weekend. Someone not cognizant enough to have done that needs to be removed by the board of directors post haste.

"The good doctor has been a very bad boy."

True but, while his medical license was suspended he earned hundreds of thousands playing in the World Series of Poker.

And I'd say that, on that United flight, the doctor played his hand perfectly... to again make hundreds of thousands or more with a lawsuit.

Stupid should HURT. Bad. Make an example so that the next time any airline even *THINKS* of bumping they start the compensation off at enough to charter a jet to where you are going.

Can't wait to lose my home when I tell a passenger to get the heck out of my car because I decide to tell them to leave.

Can we return to rational thought here? The person didn't leave when when asked to, when directed to, when ordered to. Leave the dang plane and argue with ground staff over the issue. Hope they file charges against him.

I hope the doctor sues and severely damages United. They brought it on themselves.

As for the rent-a-jackboots......fire 'em. They can go back to abusing little children and stamping on kittens for fun and joys.

A flight that wasn’t until the next morning.

A flight crew who was needed for a flight the next day was delayed due to in-climate weather and was needed for a flight leaving the destination airport the next day.

So? United was being either cheap or lazy. Take your pick. Either is not acceptable.

Most likely they didn’t want to offer a voucher for more than the IDB fee. They could could have easily upped the composition until they got volunteers. That they did not is the other story here, IMO.

No other service industry operates in this manor. Time for United to own up and stop protecting their management and front line employees who erred.

Put the employees in a rental car and have them drive.

Can’t. Illegal.

Safety laws prohibit crews from working extensive hours. Makes sense. You’d not want pilots or mechanics working 60-80 hour weeks.

They won’t file charges. They can’t. He’ll end up much richer from their utter stupidity.

You can't return to a place you have never even seen a postcard of, Kingu.

At the time that I read about it, that’s about where it was.

yes. If I were told to get off the plane, there’s no way in he:: I’ve have the guts to refuse. Passenger #4 is at fault, no one else — unless you subscribe to BLM BullS where law is immaterial.

Parent company United Continental Holdings
Headquarters Willis Tower, Chicago, Illinois, U.S.
Key people

Operating income Decrease US$ 4.338 billion (2016)
Net income Decrease US$ 2.263 billion (2016)

Check their stock price. I’m sure they’d write him a check for $10 million right now, it would be cheap if it could undo this mess.

Behaviors like United’s are punished when there is competition.

Due to regulations at all levels, there are only 4 companies. See my post below.

Freeper opinion took a complete 180° when the doctor’s past came to light. Now it’s okay to beat passengers bloody and drag them off the plane so the airline can give their paid-for seat to someone else. It’s the passenger’s fault, for not having a pristine reputation.

I am glad he is working hard to turn his life around. This makes it even more important that he doesn’t miss any work.

Why you want to smear him, is beyond my comprehension.
