A lot of people here have obviously never read the terms and conditions on their airline tickets.
A lot of people are thinking with their emotions here. They are outraged over what United did. Some even think United beat that poor doctor.

We need to remember what United did (legally) in this very rare situation pales in comparison to the daily public humiliations and offenses carried out on millions of flyers each year courtesy of the goons in the Touching Squeezing Assaulting (TSA) department.
Now THAT is an outrage. But (yawn) we live with it.
