Secretary of State Rex Tillerson issued a stern warning to Russia on Tuesday: Either stand with the US and other “like-minded” nations against Syria or side with President Bashar al-Assad and his allies Iran and the militant group Hezbollah. ”We want to relieve the suffering of the Syrian people. Russia can be a part of that future and play an important role,” Tillerson told top diplomats during a meeting in Italy. “Or Russia can maintain its alliance with this group, which we believe is not going to serve Russia’s interests longer-term.”
His comments came hours before he was scheduled to meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Moscow and days after the US launched a cruise missile strike against a Syrian air base after Assad attacked his citizens with chemical weapons, killing 87 people.
Tillerson, who met with “like-minded” countries on the sidelines of the G-7 meetings of industrialized nations, said Russia failed to live up to its agreement to rid Syria of chemical weapons either through incompetence or negligence, but the distinction “doesn’t much matter to the dead.”
“We cannot let this happen again,” he said.

Assad and his military didn’t have much politically or militarily to gain by killing 80 people, mostly kids, WITH GAS (?) when they could have just used a conventional bomb if they wanted to kill soft targets
My bet it was a set up by whatever islamist tribe Turkey is backing right now (ISIS? Al Qaeda?) - since they were quick to jump in and probably helped with the logistics or at least knew how it was done

Until Chrstians find the courage to deport all Islamics, and leave their cheeky cheeks for the martyrs, they are simple cowards. And you are never safe. Only a dictatorship can contain Islam. The U.S. Govt destroys the containing dictatorship so that Islam can take over.

Very interesting take. I just noticed that Sean Spicer had a press conference in which he had a “slip of the tongue” - said the aim was to “destabilize” Syria. Then he tried to walk it back, but it was too late. This is getting scarier and scarier.
Instead of an enormous amount of destruction, death, refugees, wasted money, etc., he needs to be offered a deal to just get out of Dodge. The precedent was set when an offer was made to Hussein. He didn’t leave and wound up dead. Assad should take the hint or we drone his ass. Hillary would.

Back in the day, when calculators were a big deal, there was a meme where you were asked to enter a string of numbers and functions, describing x many barrels of oils, y Arab sheiks, z US military battalions, and then asked, “Who wins a war in the Middle East?”
