Not far from Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort, one expert after another warned Monday about the dangers that rising sea levels pose to Florida's coast.
Not that surprising, except this was a Senate committee field hearing challenging the position shared by President Donald Trump and many Republicans in Congress that climate change isn't real.
The site of the hearing -- just four miles from Trump's weekend getaway in Palm Beach -- was clearly intended to send a signal: Much of Florida's coastline could one day be underwater, including some of the President's own prized properties.
"Today we sit at ground zero of the impacts of climate change in the US," Florida Democratic Sen. Bill Nelson said. "And while there are still some who continue to deny climate change is real, South Florida offers proof that it is real and it's an issue we're going to be grappling with for decades to come."
The fact that Trump's own properties are vulnerable to the impact of climate change is paradoxical, given that the EPA is poised to undo President Barack Obama's plan to cut greenhouse gas emissions from coal-fired power plants.

Surely you can't be serious.
They never heard of sea walls?
Only the ignorant and the bribed believe in man-made global warming.
These people need to get a life...really.
And children today in England have never seen it snow (just as the soothsayers of Man Made Global Warming have said it would come to pass by 2015)...

LOL. This reminds me of the laughable Hollywood propaganda film, “The Day After Tomorrow,” in which a Cheney-like vice president scoffs and Global Warming and then gets killed by the deep freeze that blankets the country as a result of it. You can almost hear the film makers screaming “See! All you conservatives are going to get killed by Global Warming and it serves you right!” Now that same laughable propaganda has apparently migrated to the “news” section of CNN.
How much energy (travel, broadcast/web transmission, etc.) and material waste (publication, industry, etc.) has been consumed just propelling this myth of Man Made Global Warming and Marxist Tax Redistribution?
That’s the REAL man made threat to this planet.
“Trump denies climate change”
Nobody denies climate change. Man-made global warming on the other hand...
IIRC, the Cheney-like character survives, and becomes the new President, beseeching Mexico to accomodate the hordes of desperate American refugees flooding the border. The more noble President stays too long in DC and doesn’t make it out.
I love the visuals in that ridiculous movie, though.
In 25,000 years the ice sheet will extend down to Mar-a-Lago, but, I am fairly certain Trump won’t care.
If anything, the land is sinking instead.
The real problem as the gullible property buyers on Staten Island learned, is a hurricane. People with ocean front property on the east coast are subject to loss of real estate from a massive storm. The probability of damage is huge.
Worse though than the barrier Islands, is Miami. The panoramic shots at the opening of CSI Miami are “before” photos to be compared to the “now” photos after the total devastation wrought by the coming category 5 storm
“could one day”. I’ll have to add that to the phrases I look for to identify fake news.
When the media wants state and opinion and sell it as fact, they just need to put it in the future. Then get an “expert” to say it’s possible, and the fact that the “expert” made the statement is non-fake news.
This is the perfect story to use future phrases since it’s what the AGW crowd has been doing for 20+ years - ignore the lack of evidence for past predictions and assert that the future will be bad. The future is always a decade or a century away so nobody can show they are wrong about what they say today. They are not in any way credible based on past statements but the media doesn’t care about that fact.
Not an accurate headline. President Trump denies Man has the ability to affect change upon the always changing climate. The climate always changes and Man is less than a bite-less flea on a massive planet.
No one denies that climate change is real, you dolt! Some of us just question the sanity of the MM climate change cultists.
Hilarious !!!!! ,, coming from the Corrupt News Network .
WTF?
With a moniker like that I had to find a picture of her...
Thank you. You said it well.
