A White House pool report Sunday said the aircraft appeared to come "within about 1,000 feet" of Air Force One. The Globemaster reportedly veered to Air Force Ones starboard side as the presidential aircraft traveled north from Florida. Veterans in the press cabin remarked they had never seen anything come that close, according to the report.
I would say beyond all doubt that this is a strange occurrence, a retired air force lieutenant colonel said of the incident.
Other White House officials on the flight included chief strategist Stephen Bannon, adviser Stephen Miller, national security adviser H.R. McMaster and Joe Hagin, the White House deputy chief of staff for operations.

that's EXTREMELY suspicious.
It sounds like the non shoot-down was some kind of political message.
This was news yesterday. Why don’t they know who was flying?
I have a hunch the driver of that errant plane will be in a world of hurt; not because POTUS goes after him, but because the Air Force and ATC do.
My guess is it’s due to parallel runways on landing and the distance was probably much more than 100 feet.
“It sounds like the non shoot-down was some kind of political message.”
What message would that be?
If the President is not on board is the plane still referred to as AF1????
Af1 does not normally fly with armed escorts. Af1 cant shoot it down either.
Is Harrison Ford in trouble again?!? /s
The guy should have been on some form of flight control in the area. I suspect he was simply following direction from someone. A flight controller may have been the problem.
This is a layman’s take on it, so I would welcome someone correcting me if I’m off base.
No
I just measured the runways at Andrews and they are 2000 feet apart.
I didn’t think so....
It ceases being Air Force One when he exits the plane.
We and the media will still address it that way though, so we’ll be able to instantly identify the aircraft.
Whatever plane he is one, is Air Force One.
If some circumstance should arise where he is on a two seat Cessna, it would still be Air Force One.
No. AF1 is designated to any plane he is aboard, though. He could be flying in a Piper Cub and it would be designated AF1.
Does anyone know if Air Force fighters still escort AF1.
“Was Air Force 1 meant to be underneath me?”
Maybe this is what you saw? the MD-80 was bustin to help clear space?
A globemaster is a huge cargo jet ,, as a military jet is was most likely on a “military air route” ,, I’m unfamiliar with details on how they are controlled but they are not handled by “regular” ATC... It seems likely that both civilian ATC and military ATC were involved and not talking to each other.
