To me, this story smacks of “we don’t have the full story here.” Nothing said about who this person was or if he was really a doctor. I’d imagine a full-fledged ‘doctor’ of medicine wouldn’t scream like a little bitch..

This story smells like a week old fish, and the woman whose voice is heard seems to me more like some heavy Democrat sympathizer who clearly exaggerated the impact - that man wasn’t injured. He was ‘peacefully’ building a lawsuit.

Regardless whether of not he was a doctor, he was a paying customer dragged off a flight by police against his will.

United will pay much more than $800 for that decision.

I wrote a post which I decided not to post. My question was what kind of doctor. It did not say a medical doctor. If the others were on standby, why couldn’t they wait until a later flight? There is much more to this story.

The fine print of your ticket says they can bump you, and says they can remove you from the flight for any reason.

The woman who was ‘so upset’ about how they were treating a “doctor” who said he “had to be somewhere” — did she volunteer to take $800 so the doctor could fly? Apparently not.

Why didn’t the doctor say “give me a minute”, and turn around and explain the the other passengers his situation, and offer say $200 more to keep his seat? Maybe some passenger would have taken the deal.

I’ve been on flights like this, and you are hoping someone else volunteers because they WILL kick someone off the plane, and having a ticket doesn’t help you — unless you paid a LOT MORE for a ticket that guarantees you a seat.

I don’t think it matters who the guy is. HE had a ticket and the compensation was not sufficient for him to get off.

Myself I would have probably taken the money. Not right that he was tossed into a seat and drug off the plane. Great advert for the other airlines out there. Whe won’t beat you up and drag you off our flights.

He wasn’t injured? He was knocked out cold and bleeding, very clear from the video, yet you comment he wasn’t injured?

The passenger was grappled by the police and jerked hard enough to propel his face into the armrest across the aisle, resulting in a severe enough laceration to cause significant bleeding, which is visible as blood streaks down his chin, when he boarded the plane a second time, prior to his final removal.
