China Massed 150 Thousand Troops at Sino-N. Korean Border for Crisis in Korean Peninsula

China Times reported on Apr. 9 that China's military deployed two army groups, about150 thousand troops, at Sino-N. Korean border to guard against an unexpected situation, while troops of S. Korea and U.S. have been conducting joint exercises since last month, including decapitation operation to remove Kim Jong-un.

According to China Times Online in Taiwan, the Northern Military District which is in charge of defending North Eastern region of China ordered full battle preparation to all land, sea, and air units under its command, and massed 150 thousand troops out of 430 thousand troops which makes up 16th, 23rd, 39th, and 40th Army Groups.

The news site reported that the Northern District took this measure in response to Key Resolve and Foal Eagle exercises by S. Korean and U.S. troops, which continues until the end of this month, whose scenario is to eliminate N. Korean leadership including Kim Jong-un and destroy N. Korea's WMDs when a crisis breaks out in Korean Peninsula.

The lead units for rapid response to a N. Korean crisis are 39th Army Group and 40th Army Group whose command headquarters are at Yingkou and Jinzhou in Liaoning Province. The 39th Army Group is a heavy mechanized unit and the 40th is the rapid deployment force.

Furthermore, they deployed a new Kongjing-500 early warning aircraft to the border to beef up aerial surveillance.

In addition, Dongfend-31A missiles, 12 Dongfeng-03 ballstic missiles with a range of 2,800km, and 24 Dongfeng-21 "Carrier-killer" missiles are aimed at N. Korea, United States Forces Korea and Japan and are ready to be fired.

".... but focused on SK and US troops in SK."

I doubt it. Neither China or Russia are sure the numbskull in NK won't launch a nuke at them since he doesn't come to heel even after they help him.

As long as China has a say in who runs NK instead of being reunited with SK without any Chinese say in how it is organized and run they'd probably be glad to see the leadership change. They have plenty of problems with NK other than nukes, too.

It isn’t good it isn’t bad. It’s undetermined. It’s an option play. Typical Chinese play. Just like Trump. They attack and defend with the same move.

Somewhere in between - China wants domination. If they take NK the SK is next. SK is already in the crosshairs of the Xi government.

China getting more stuff is not good news. It will lead to other things.

Don't tell anyone, but I heard this from a guy who used to date a girl who has a friend who was a cousin to a server at the dinner for President Trump and Grand Flunky XI.

Sometime before the dinner President Trump and his staff were trying to come up with a way to inform XI that President Trump had taken action against Syria.

At the dinner President Trump offered XI a reset button as a sign of friendship and he encouraged XI to push it. XI pushed the button and President Trump said "Congratulations. You just launched 59 Tomahawk missiles at Syria."

A country that sent 100s of thousands of men raining down from both sides onto our troops in Korea, knowing full well that we had atom bombs and they had none, is now afraid, when their capacity is MUCH greater than back then?

Interesting take.

Interesting take indeed don’t you think. China was rural... now it is 25% urban. The old guard were ideologues. The princelings are pragmatists. They own our national debt. We have about 5 or 6 evil regimes in the world and an evil mindset (muslim). of which 1 is with China and the rest just against the west.

What is in their best interest? Muslims hate the Chinese too.

I just got back from Beijing yesterday. My Chinese host told me the Chinese do not like the North Koreans and hate their leader.

I have no proof but contrary to what was reported as what was discussed at the recent summit, I would bet the NK situation was addressed by both leaders.

I concur. Those troops are amassed for border control support should SHTF there.

My two cents.

And what about the two Russian war ships docking in South Korea’s new port?

Those troops are to stop the North Koreans from fleeing into China after they send a wet works team to take out Kim Jong Un and the country falls into temporary chaos. The whole Syria strike was to send a big message to China and N Korea that Trump is not a pushover like Obama. That’s my prediction anyway...

Sure you did not read this somewhere? Huh?

What would we — or S. Korea, Japan, Philippines, etc. — lose if we encouraged China to annex North Korea and dismantle the cult that is the NK regime ? Especially if they gave up all claims to Taiwan, the South China Sea and those Islands in exchange for our not objecting to the annexation.

That is one hell of an idea.

LS, whatcha think?

I hope you are correct because this amassing of our war footing is being based (from what is being said) on the ChiComs having our "six" or understanding when it goes down in NK.

This lil biotch in NK needs to go. I know that the US has laws prohibiting assassinating foreign leaders but this is not a leader, this is a demagogue.

Just look at the difference on Earth View at night between NK and SK. Total pitch black in NK while SK is rockin' and rollin' with prosperity brought to them by US. The NK people could do the same if they did not have the lil biotch holding them down.

I agree with your sentiment.

After this recent trip to China ( I am sucking Jet Lag as I write this), I know most Chinese are capitalists at heart. They want to make money..

With the amount of debt the US owes China and the incredible amount of Chinese investments in the US, I want to believe in my heart that the Chinese leadership won’t do anything negative that harms the Golden Goose... us the USA.

Many Chinese business people have great disdain for the Commie party in their country but have to involve the party to get tax return dollars and generally maintain revenue generation.

Just like Mr. Trump was forced to deal with the democrat polls in NY to consummate his biz transactions there.

Yes, the NK tyrant needs to go away. But the ensuing mess from this desired change may result in even greater instability in the region. It’s a hard pill to swallow.

Time will tell.

Few really know what is going on behind the scene.

What is clear is that President Trump is unlike any since perhaps Reagan.

He may appear unpredictable, but I believe that is because no one expects a politician to actually do what he says he will do. We forget that President Trump is NOT a politician.

Unlike politicians who lie for a living, President Trump comes from a world where your word is your bond.

At this point in time I trust President Trump to do what ever is in the best interest of the US.

I doubt that China would be interested in permanently annexing North Korea. They've got problems with regions like Tibet that are ethnically apart (though less so today).

Those border troops might also be dusted should we nuke any NK facility near to them.
