When the Syrian government carried out a gruesome chemical attack on civilians this week, many people had a question: Didn’t the Obama administration, working with Russia and international experts, destroy Syria’s chemical weapons stocks in 2014?
In his State of the Union address that year, President Barack Obama declared, “American diplomacy, backed by the threat of force, is why Syria’s chemical weapons are being eliminated.” Months later, in July, on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Secretary of State John Kerry essentially declared the mission accomplished: “We struck a deal where we got 100 percent of the chemical weapons out.”

Obama Lied About Removing All Chemical Weapons from Syria

RUSH: There’s a fact-check outfit out there called PolitiFact, and it’s like all the other fact-check outfits. The Washington Post has one; the AP has one. These fact-check outfits exist only to discredit and impugn Trump. Well, the PolitiFact has had to retract a story they categorized as “mostly true” three years ago, and this story is big. Three years ago, Barack Obama and his Regime were an abject disaster. But they were claiming success after success after success, particularly in the Middle East.
One of the things that the Obama administration was celebrating was that they had completely removed chemical weapons from Syria. Obama drew that red line and the Syrians and everybody else realized the bad actor they were dealing with, and they cowered in fear, and they did remove 100% of their chemical weapons. There’s a problem now, though. Those chemical weapons were just used in an attack in Syria on Syrian citizens. So how could the Obama administration have gotten rid of all of these? The Obama… You know what the claim was? They claimed they gave all of that chemical weapons stock to the Russians.
Oh, yeah! Yeah, folks! The Obama administration — now the dire enemy of the Russians, victimized by the Russians — gave the chemical weapon stocks in Syria to the Russians.
Which means the Russians probably gave it right back to the Syrians. But the PolitiFact story retracts a 2014 article that said it was “mostly true” that the Obama administration “helped broker a deal that successfully removed 100% of chemical weapons from Syria.” So a story that was a lie backed up by PolitiFact for three years has been retracted, and the upshot is the Obama administration did not succeed in successfully removing all of Syria’s chemical weapons, as we now know because those weapons were used recently.

Yeah, sure. It’s complicated. Like it was too complicated for the partisan hacks in DC and the media to honestly report that Sadam Hussein’s chemical weapons were sent to Syria in the two-long build up to our invasion of Iraq, for example.
This chemical attack was the result of that vile anti-Mohammed video that has caused so much harm already.

I suspect the chemical analysis has already shown that the stuff traces back to Quadaffi, so everyone act surprised when the Dems trot that out, and use it to dispute Trump’s explanation. Hillary can tell them all about it.
Why did FNC decide they needed a leftist blonde bimbo airhead?
It’s not complicated, Obama lied, Kerry lied, Rice lied and the Russians lied. Very simple.
First, since the Syrian government has recaptured a lot of territory and has shown chemical weapons they found in territory they recaptured, it's possible they didn't dispose of them but instead, kept them.
Second, they didn't say a thing about the presence or absence of chemical weapons in the hands of the numerous groups fighting the government. Groups many of which are armed and supplied by the US.
Given those facts you can assume that the Syrian government kept weapons they found and used them. IMHo, though, it's far more likely the people fighting the Syrian government used them again and suckered the US into being their Air Force again.
After all, there are something like 52 cases of those fighting the government using chemical weapons and all the same organizations involved in making the report to which you refer agree that they used those weapons.
The truth is complicated when you are trying to lie.
Not more complicated. Just different. The answer was “no.”
This idea that Obama’s hands were tied is ridiculous. He did not want Congress to approve a response so they did not.
