Sanctuary City Mayor Battles Tucker: Policing 'Easy For White Men Like Us'

Mayor Virgil Bernero (D) of Lansing, Michigan debated Tucker Carlson on the legitimacy of Attorney General Jeff Sessions' plan to withhold federal funds from cities that won't enforce federal immigration law.

Carlson reported that despite Sessions' warnings, Lansing voted to become a sanctuary city, and he asked Bernero when it was OK to defy any federal law in such a way.

Bernero said that it is never proper to do so, and added that his executive order on the topic abides by federal law.

He invited Sessions and President Trump to advise him anytime on how to increase public safety in Lansing, but said he would never "federalize" his police force to become an immigration enforcer.

So would liberals like this mayor be ok with conservative areas becoming sanctuaries from liberal policies?
Perhaps a minority neighborhood in Lansing should decide that collecting a city sales tax would make shop keepers look like a racist occupying force taking money from people of color to provide city services that benefit whites and maintain the police force and city jails that oppress minorities.
Abortion free zones, Roe v Wade doesn’t matter.
Constitutional carry zones, ignore state laws.
Other zones: Voter ID, don’t have to title your car, no 0bamacare mandate, religious freedom zones where bakers are free to not cater the gay wedding…

How about congress pass a law making mayors and city councils that support this nonsense personally liable for any acts committed by an illegal immigrant with an ICE detainer that they had released?

The Mayor sure went through all the lib excuses/talking points. Even breaking out the dogeared “we don’t have the resources to be immigration agents”. Well, no one is asking them to do that, and when Tucker pointed out that they’re in jeopardy of losing fed $, the Mayor seemed to look forward to battling in court. So no money to enforce the law, but plenty to wage a long losing court battle with the Feds. Got it Mayor.
