Trump blames Assad for deadly chemical attack in Syria, U.S. under pressure

U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday condemned a Syrian chemical weapons attack that killed dozens and blamed Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, but did not say how he would respond despite calls from France for stronger U.S. leadership.

Trump said the attack in Syria's Idlib province was "reprehensible and cannot be ignored by the civilized world," although he also sought to blame his predecessor, Barack Obama.

"These heinous actions by the Bashar al-Assad regime are a consequence of the last administration's weakness and irresolution," Trump said in a statement. "President Obama said in 2012 that he would establish a 'red line' against the use of chemical weapons and then did nothing."

A ‘watchdog agency’ in Hague said so. It must be true.

At least you don’t pretend otherwise. You’re like the Left in the 1960s, 70s, and 80s. Or for that matter from the Bolshevik Revolution. Your heart and alliance is with foreign tyrants.

It pains me to see President Trump being played by the Deep State, McCain, et al.

Assad is not a fool. The Russians are not crazy. What strategic advantage would result from using poison gas to take out a a couple handfuls of rabble, who could just as easily be knocked out with conventional munitions? Weigh all that with the obvious downside. Fake news.

Either that or just Hillary’s extraordinary incompetence. The administration badly needed a win somewhere.

Of course, they bungled Libya horribly as they did everything else.

I think you can consider miscalculation as a possibility. Assad may have misread the change in US policy, now not focused on his removal, to mean he can do any crime he wants. No matter how many people praise his superior intellect, at the end of the day he’s a dictator who is used to getting his way and not being held accountable by law or man.

sorry, not sure where you were in 65, but I was in Vietnam, not allied with “foreign tyrants”.

I’m an now against the “foreign tyrants” which are the globalists who once again want to spill American blood for their own profits.

Sorry, I’ll pass on the McCain worship, and the Kenyan worship, but you just go right ahead....

If it makes you feel patriotic and all that.

I don’t trust these f’ers as far as I can throw an man-hole cover, and at nearly 70, it aint very far anymore.

Dumb ####.

Though I greatly prefer secular dictators to muslim nuts, their arrogance never ceases to amaze me.

Pay the b.tch and live.

I should know better to have looked at your posting history before replying.

You don’t deserve a reply.

You are a McCain globalist just itching to start wars where-ever you can.

Probably a globalist plant.

Megan McCain is that you?

Screw your type. GWBush was not very savvy in politics, and the neocons took him and America for a ride. You and the others are trying to do the same on Trump.

Folks like me are tired of it.

Go pound sand.

I’ll note this WMD attack was ordered shortly after Putin’s hometown of St Petersburg was terror attacked while he was visiting it.

Post #16 says enough about who you are and what you value that you’re right not to talk to someone who is pro-American.

Assad and putin feel unconstrained by law, morality, and force. It’s a dangerous mindset likely to lead to more miscalculations.

and this is a total globalist tactic

the sh*t is hitting the fan with Susan Rice, and now all the sudden there is a gas attack?

First, I’m not convinced there WAS a gas attack. I’ve seen so many “shopped” and “staged” photos out of Rueters and CNN (think of Gaza) I am not sure it’s true.

Second, where is the proof Asad did it?

Third, I wouldn’t put it past you globalists to have facilitated it IF it did occur to either star a war with Russia or start dropping more bombs on Syria.

You are pushing Trump into a “red line” moment and you know it. It’s a “tar baby” full of “mission creep” opportunity that you jack-asses just love. Lots of money to be made there, and lots of political fortunes.

Pull all our shit out of there. NOW.

Get the F out of Syria, NOW.

Not my problem. Not OUR problem. What threat does Assad pose to the US? NONE. Get out now!

You want to solve problems with bombs? Fine, nukes. Nuke Iran, Nuke the Norks. Oh, but people like you don’t like that, you want a long engagement. You want Americans to die, so it’s “fair”.

No way Jose. Nuke it, or leave it.

We are not the worlds peace-keepers. Let the UN do that, isn’t that what they are for? Let them sort out the muzzie factions, that’s not our job.

Build the wall, stop being globalists, stop trying to be the world police. You arm one gang, who fights another gang, who is opposed to another gang, who is friends with this gang, who all love Isis. Screw that!

People like you are the PROBLEM with our country, not the solution. “oh, but there is money to be made”. Screw you, screw that. People like you made plenty of money off my back.

You sound like McNamara. Let the Westmorelands handle this. Crap was going good till you ass-hats got involved in world affairs.

Wanna make a difference? Enlist. If you already did, do it again. I don’t think there is an age limit on CO. Our CO was in his 60’s.

You’re already on record as believing and trusting putin and Russia more than the USA (Your post #16 on this thread). I think that’s good enough indication of where your heart and mind is. And I get it why you lash out at others as “globalists” and all the other claptrap spewed on RT and Sputnik.

Yup, I trust Russia more than the MSM or McCain.

Take that to the bank!

If Russia is Wikileaks, they did our country a damned good favor. They reported on the corruption in the DNC that the MSM wouldn’t

Go crawl back under a rock

And I AM on the record as stating such. (post #16). And that SHOULD be a good indication of where my heart and mind is.

BTW, what unit you serve in? Call sign? Year?

(and “globalist” aint a sputnik work, it’s a word for those of us who are fed up with your type).

Jeb is that you?
