Susan Rice requested to unmask names of Trump transition officials, sources say

Multiple sources tell Fox News that Susan Rice, former national security adviser under then-President Barack Obama, requested to unmask the names of Trump transition officials caught up in surveillance.

The unmasked names, of people associated with Donald Trump, were then sent to all those at the National Security Council, some at the Defense Department, then-Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and then-CIA Director John Brennan – essentially, the officials at the top, including former Rice deputy Ben Rhodes.

*snip*

Nunes has faced criticism from Democrats for viewing pertinent documents on White House grounds and announcing their contents to the press. But sources said “the intelligence agencies slow-rolled Nunes. He could have seen the logs at other places besides the White House SCIF [secure facility], but it had already been a few weeks. So he went to the White House because he could protect his sources and he could get to the logs.”

Thanks, I had read the article on the Fox Site, and I must have missed what you showed. In fact his article is no longer on the Fox internet site.

This was a Direct Attack on the Constitution, I don’t want to see Trump on Twitter, I want action, not social media crap.

Well, you're going to get both, and on others' schedule, not yours.

This selfish need for instant gratification—in circumstances where patience and diligence are required—is just silly.

Would you rather have somebody do something premature, and thereby let a criminal off the hook?

Can someone explain to us simpletons what all this means? What has Rice done that is illegal? I'm really having a hard time understanding what is going on.

Thanks.

This was a direct attack, and people need to be charged for this.
Just imagine how the left would take this upon them if the republicans had done this.

From what is now confirmed, there is no legal case against her. But circumstantial evidence indicates she had opportunity and motive to divulge classified information to people not authorized to receive it, and we know that such information was transferred. That makes her a real suspect, not just a Twitter/blogger target.

Do we know for sure exactly which names were unmasked? It seems to me they will say all the names were unmasked because of suspected Russian collusion. It would only be clearly illegal if Barron or one of the other little kid’s names were revealed.

From the Wili...

On December 1, 2008, Rice was nominated by president-elect Obama to be the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, a position which he restored to cabinet level. Rice became the second youngest person and the first African American woman to represent the U.S. at the UN. Reportedly Rice had coveted the post of National Security Advisor, which instead went to retired United States Marine Corps General, James L. Jones, and she and most of Obama's original foreign policy team were disappointed that they were not picked for the top posts in Obama's administration. Rice had a poor relationship with State Department veteran Richard Holbrooke, whom she considered to be meddling on her turf and who in return had viewed her as incompetent.

The 2010 National Security Strategy was referred to by Rice as a "dramatic departure" from its predecessor.

National Security Advisor
Rice was picked to succeed Tom Donilon as National Security Advisor immediately following Donilon's resignation on June 5, 2013. The position of National Security Advisor does not require Senate approval. Rice was sworn in as the 24th National Security Advisor on July 1, 2013.
