Getting dragged down into the unconstitutional socialized healthcare quagmire is insanity!

Posted on 03/30/2017 10:30:54 AM PDT by Jim Robinson

Bad move by Trump. Ryan and the globalist big government GOPe RINOs are the problem not the Freedom Caucus. Trump is supposed to be draining the swamp by now, not swimming in it.

Put the interest of American citizens first! Freedom not socialism and tyranny!!

Good grief! Dump Obamacare already! Should have been done on day one and we’d be way on down the road to draining the swamp by now!

We the people have been demanding a full repeal for seven long years and that's the position Trump took with his original health care goal at the beginning of the campaign. What he's doing now is madness and it's quickly destroying any chance of party unity and therefore destroying his chances of accomplishing the rest of hs agenda.

Someone screwed the pooch, BIGLY!

And someone needs to get it back on track, pronto!

This is NOT the decisive action of George S. Patton. It’s the confused inaction of George B. “Little Mac” McClellan!

Where is our U.S. Grant?

Get it together guys or we lose the war.

Right now FreeRepublic looks a lot like what I imagine Congress looks like. We have one very vocal faction taunting, “Nyah nyah, told ya so! Trump was never going to do any of the things he promised. I was right, I win!”

We have another vocal faction saying, “Trump won’t break any of his promises. He doesn’t make mistakes (3-D chess). If he says the HFC is the devil, then so it is! If Trump wills it, then kill the HFC!”

And, we have those (yours truly, included) who are saying NONE of the above, DO support our dear POTUS, but do NOT want a 17% approval rating/0CareLite Ryan Stink bomb!!

He was elected unanimously how do you figure those thirty votes would have mattered.

So Trump wasn’t out there supporting and doubling down on Paul Ryan and his crap sandwich? Phew...I was hoping this was all just a bad dream.

But the told-ya! crap ain’t helpful, either. Could just be a rough patch, but it’s a self-inflicted rough patch, which we don’t have the time or energy to be distracted by/with.

With this, I totally agree. And yet, it's here on nearly every thread I've read since the President's first tweet on Sunday blaming the HFC and the Heritage Foundation for RyanCare going down in flames.

Apparently, it was a crap sandwich that Trump could handle.

I agree it has many aspects of being “crap sandwichy,” but we need to trust the method to the madness. He's pulled it off every other time.

I had serious reservations about Trump from the start.

I took numerous hits from many people here during the primaries for pointing out Trumps flaws and inconsistancies. I even had my posting privleges suspended for a time for being a “never Trumper”. Yes, I supported Ted Cruz. Yes, I acknowledge he turned into let down too. So in reality, there was no hope in 2016. The rest of the GOP field was a joke.

But when it became clear Trump was going to be the nominee, I got behind him. I supported him. I fretted over Hillary becoming President. I voted for Trump despite the fact my state (CA) was going heavily against him.

When Trump won, I allowed myself to be hopeful he would be just what this nation needed, that he would do his best to fight congress and carry out his promises.

Two months later, that hope is gone. The reservations I had durning the primaries has turned out to be well founded. Trump has turned out to be just another lying politician who has betrayed the coalition that elected him.

This is not what I wanted. I wanted America to “be great again”. But now, unless Trump reverses course now, it’s not going to happen. At this stage, the Democrats will win back both houses in congress in 2018 and succeed in elected a Marxist in 2020.

I hope Trumps changes, but he is a hard headed man and I don’t see him doing anything to get back on track.

Jim, you raise the oft argued and totally correct 10th Amendment issue. With Mr. Justice Gorsuch on SCOTUS, I would think we may certorrari on a case speaking to that core issue you raise.

Be well.

Nonsense....Trump has done more in two months than ANY Repub Pres has ever done.

Illegal border crossings are down, jobs are up, up, up, Keystone has been signed, EPA and climate BS regs have been signed.

Good grief.....it sounds as though your admitted NeverTrumpism has NEVER left :(

“...wouldn’t the whole thing self-destruct?”

Has Social Security self destructed? Has Medicare self destructed? Has Medicaid self destructed? Check your paycheck on how they are withdrawn. Nothing ain’t gonna be self destructing. Things will be budgeted for. And the cycle continues.

Yes, and I would stand with you in that group, (perhaps with the caveat that I will support the President unless he does significant damage to our Constitutional principles). I referred to those of us who are saying neither of those things in this paragraph of the previous post...

Then I think we have a whole bunch of us, perhaps less vocal, watching with a great sense of anxiety and various degrees of foreboding.

No, I don’t need to blindly trust anything.

He’s not given me much of a reason to trust him in the past week.
