I do like a lot of the EO doing away with Obama policies. He has made other decisions that I like. However, this scolding is tuning me out too. Someone who likes Dems more than conservatives must be whispering in his ear. Karl Rove was about to go on Fox News to say how Freedom Caucus was going to tear apart the R party. I turned the TV off. If that happens so be it. If Rs are D lite it doesn’t need to exist.

Still, hoping he drains the swamp and knowing we need to pray for him. I prayed for Obama too. Christians are commanded to pray for leaders 1 Timothy 1-2: “First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.”

Which is more important:

1) Party Unity

2) A Principled stand

Ultimately it comes down to those two choices:

Would I, or you, rather have a congressman that votes party over principal or principal over party?

No, I disagree. When you are in the majority, and Obamacare is currently the law, the principled stand is not really responsible legislating.

Every single issue can be thwarted on some basic conservative principle if principle is to be the single deciding factor. At some point, you have to be satisfied to move the ball toward your goal by influence. If you can't do that, then you lose the influence and sit as a do nothing caucus which stands on principle alone and will never govern.

But no one wants to stick together with progressive bills or goals. If that is the case, then F what the Republicans think they are doing.

We don’t need either:
#1: Far left politics and culture.
#2: A little less slower progressing Far left politics or culture.

I don’t have an answer, but see two very divided America’s and IMO the ones wanting all for free need the other America to pay for it all which can lead down the road to massive civil unrest IMO, though Ihope not.

I had real hopes that....being an outsider....Trump would bring change. Instead, we have defeat after defeat.....no Obamacare repeal....no wall.....no putting the clintons in jail.....no stopping jihadists from entering the country....

And now, Trump is declaring war on the only group of Congressmen who really DO want to drain the swamp.

Sad.

Jim Jordan’s response was class itself. That is the way a based adult responds in this kind of situation—very impressive.

This sort of confrontation has been brewing for years. Let’s get it on. We can survive this, and expose the GOPe once again for who they really are. Trump should never have touched this bill, and simply let Odumbocare fall flat. Complete replacement, no partial parsing and “fixing” allowed. Anything Trump would have done to “fix” it would have fallen squarely on Trump, when the whole ACA was a failure from the beginning. Let the Rats own it ALL!!!

“And the FC voted him in as speaker.”

I’m not sure I understand the logic of Trump folks repeatedly saying this.

So... since the tiny HFC did not stop the Ryan move to speaker, then they are somehow to blame for Trump gladly jumping into bed with Ryan and giving birth to disaster-lite instead of taking the opportunity for Freedom on the party’s first chance to do something right since owning the Hill and the WH?

“Every single issue can be thwarted on some basic conservative principle if principle is to be the single deciding factor. At some point, you have to be satisfied to move the ball toward your goal by influence.”

That can be a valid point in many circumstances, I do not believe this was one of them.

This legislation was so flawed that passing it would not have been “moving the ball forward”, it would have been a lateral, and a lateral to the left for the freedom caucus at that. It would have amounted to passing something just to say something was passed.

Constitution and good of the country over party unity every time in my book.

or Obamacare stays after Trump tries to deal with the Dems.

Some of us understand that Ryan's bill left ObamaCare in place with a different name.

“Consensus:“ The process of abandoning all beliefs, principles, values, and policies in search of something in which no one believes, but to which no one objects; the process of avoiding the very issues that have to be solved, merely because you cannot get agreement on the way ahead. What great cause would have been fought and won under the banner: ‘I stand for consensus?”

I’m with you. I’m done attributing clearly unhelpful moves to playing mind games, 3D chess, doing a head fake, long ball, briar-patch maneuver, etc. This blasting holes in an already fragile coalition needs to stop months ago. I’m getting that sinking feeling already.

the only thing the freedom caucus has ever won is the freedom to live in the swamp.

of the swamp for the swamp.

I fear this is true.

If Trump goes after Dave Brat, he becomes my political opponent.
I worked my butt off to get rid of the weasel Eric Cantor, who would have supported Ryancare, and have been thrilled to finally have a representative who represents me.

Trump better stop before he drives away his only support, We The People.

I got the vapors.

Pres. Trump’s tweet connected the Freedom Caucus with the RATs.

That is a fact and it’s not kewl to arm your opponents.
