An Angry Freedom Caucus Responds To Trump's 2018 Threat

After Trump drew 'first blood' this morning with a tweet threatening to fight Freedom Caucus members in the 2018 mid-term elections, a pair of House representatives have fired back with aggressive tweets of their own implying that Trump's healthcare plan was evidence that he had "succumb to the D.C. Establishment."
"It didn't take long for the swamp to drain @realDonaldTrump. No shame, Mr. President. Almost everyone succumbs to the D.C. Establishment."
".@realDonaldTrump it's a swamp not a hot tub. We both came here to drain it. #SwampCare polls 17%. Sad!"
Ohio Representative Jim Jordan, the former chairman of the House Freedom Caucus, also defended conservative lawmakers earlier today on Fox News. Per The Hill:
"The Freedom Caucus is trying to change Washington, this bill keeps Washington the same, plain and simple," Jordan said Thursday on Fox News' "America's Newsroom."
"We appreciate the president, we are trying to help the president. But the fact is, you have to look at the legislation. It doesn't do what we told the voters we were going to do, and the American people understand that. That's why only 17 percent of the population supports this legislation."
Jordan wouldn't comment on the threat regarding the 2018 midterms, instead characterizing the scuttled healthcare vote as just a "postponement" and arguing that Republicans will succeed if they deliver on their promises to voters.
"Lets forget the blame and what may happen in the future, lets just do what we said. That's what the Freedom Caucus and what Republicans are committed to," he said.
Of course these latest tweets come after Trump took to twitter earlier this morning, saying "The Freedom Caucus will hurt the entire Republican agenda if they don't get on the team, & fast. We must fight them, & Dems, in 2018!"
So, Republican civil war it is...Ultimate winner: Democrats.

I’m not a big fan of bumper sticker logic, but there you have it.
Let’s see if they can stick together to shed light on the use of the US Intelligence Community against a political opponent...

"First blood"? Nope. Third blood is more like it. As in this is the third time this month Trump has threatened conservatives in the HFC. At first I was willing to concede Donald was playing mind games, 3 D chess, doing a head fake, or call it what you will.
But now? Well, if Trump wants to slide on into bed with the RINO's then he's on his own. I can not support him.

Trump is piling up failure after failure. He has not kept his Day One promises and his 100 day contract is going to be missed almost entirely. These are the facts. Increasingly disappointing and, speaking for myself, I’m tuning him out, tuning it all out, as he’s turning out just like everyone one else getting into the White House. His Day One promises to rescind Obama’s executive orders and actions giving illegal aliens amnesty was not done. Worse, still more are applying. He let Ryan put up a stupid health plan that did not first repeal Obamacare and, worse, included coverage for illegal aliens. He’s now letting H1B continue. Issue after issue falls aside, courts thwart his other efforts. I fear at the end, he’ll accomplish nothing. He can blame it on Freedom Caucus, which might be partially true, but he has let people like Ryan and Rinse take the lead. We have not see the Trump we elected. Will we?

Opposing Obama and Ryancare isn't good enough. The Freedom Caucus needs to release their own plan.
If a full repeal and replace isn't possible, at least pass something that gives the American people relief from Obamacare.
The voters aren't going to accept the status quo.

Great picture. Captures the reality perfectly! But instead of Trump up to his nose in the swamp - it should be noted that Trump has actively done a beautiful swan dive - head first - into the swamp.
Drain the swamp? Hell no, Trump now owns the swamp. and will soon own TrumpCare. Which can only doom his presidency as ObamaCare doomed Obama’s.

The Freedom Caucus is NOT the enemy. Trump needs to figure out that he is on the wrong side of this issue and stop threatening the one group who saved us all....including him....from a big disaster.
Pronto.

Love the media’s contest for the most sensational headlines on this spat.

When the Freedom Caucus gets rid of Ryan, then I will believe they are sincere. Until then, for me, they have no credibility. It is just Never Trumpers.
Notice, they never fought Obama.

Well, the freedom caucus is right on this one. That is pretty plain. The question is, should they choose this battle?
I absolutely think this battle is key. It is Midway island.

I support the Freedom Caucus, but Justin Amash supports open borders, John Lewis not attending the inauguration, and opposed Trump’s travel ban.
To: Mr. Douglas
I agree completely. If Trump thinks he can find better allies than the Freedom Caucus among the Democrats (and I include Ryan among them), he’s seriously mistaken.
