That Was Then But This Is Now

1. LOCK HER UP.

Donald Trump Then:

After FBI Director James Comey in July recommended not charging Clinton, Trump cited it as evidence the election was “rigged” and said the FBI “rolled over.”

He pledged to appoint a special prosecutor, and even told Clinton during a debate that if he were president, “you’d be in jail.”

Donald Trump Now:

But after he won the election, Trump said he wouldn’t recommend prosecuting Clinton, saying she already “suffered greatly” and that it’s “just not something I feel very strongly about.”

Trump was speaking in Grand Rapids, Mich., as part of his “thank you” tour when he heard some chants of “lock her up” - a common refrain during his campaign events.

“That plays great before the election - now we don't care, right?” Trump responded, according to CNN.

2. DACA

Donald Trump Then:

Opposed DACA and DAPA and called Obama's executive orders on DACA and DAPA “one of the most unconstitutional actions ever undertaken by a President.” –

“We will immediately terminate President Obama’s two illegal executive amnesties in which he defied federal law and the constitution to give amnesty to approximately 5 million illegal immigrants,” Trump said at an August speech in Arizona, where immigration hard-liner Joe Arpaio introduced him.

Donald Trump Now:

“They got brought here at a very young age, they’ve worked here, they’ve gone to school here. Some were good students. Some have wonderful jobs. And they’re in never-never land because they don’t know what’s going to happen,” Trump said in an interview with Time.

In an interview that aired Wednesday, Trump said DACA participants shouldn't be "very worried."

“They shouldn’t be very worried, I do have a big heart. We’re going to take care of everybody, we’re going to have a very strong border, we’re going to have a very solid border,” Trump told ABC's David Muir. “You have great people that are here that have done a good job, they should be far less worried.”

3. AFFORDABLE CARE ACT

Donald Trump Then:

As he campaigned for the White House that he declared in an interview with CBS’ “60 Minutes”: “I am going to take care of everybody … Everybody’s going to be taken care of much better than they’re taken care of now.” More recently, Trump has promised that repeal will end with “a beautiful picture.”

Donald Trump Now:

The White House said Monday that President Trump is “absolutely” serious about working with Democrats on health-care legislation and other priorities after conservative Republicans balked at a GOP plan to repeal and replace Obamacare.

“We learned a lot through this process,” said White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer. “If we can come up with resolution on a way to move forward, we’ll certainly entertain that. I don’t think we’ve seen the end of health care.”

Mr. Trump criticized the conservative House Freedom Caucus for failing to support the administration-backed bill last week, saying they were allowing Obamacare to remain in place and permitting federal funding for Planned Parenthood.

Asked if working with Democrats would require a serious course correction by the administration, Mr. Spicer said, “Sure.”

Don’t know why you’re being such an a-hole. I’ll leave you be simply because you are useless.

Fifty years from now you Never Trumper Cruz types will be gathered at reunions with your white beards and canes and saying to each other “If only Ted had charged far enough to reach the wall and taken out the artillery!”

Cruz had no chance in the general election. Face it.

You have already indicating you don’t know anything about Teneo. Rather than look it up..you just want to attack me and claim I need to feed you the info

IT IS VERY SIMPLE TO PUT THE WORD

“TENEO” into FR search engine and see what pops up if you really want to know.

Can’t help it if you don’t know who Dina POwell is or that her husband is President of Teneo Strategy.

Maybe you should do more research

My firm belief has always been that Hillary was such damage goods that any respectable conservative would have gotten a better score than Donald Trump did.

Balderdash. You REALLY believe that any "respectable conservative" would have held up to the leftist, media, and establishment onslaught that Trump has endured? Sure, there may be one, but I can't think of any names.

The problem is most certainly not Trump. Its the "respectable conservatives" that make up the Washington establishment. They don't waste a second when the opportunity to trash Trump or simple fold under pressure arises.

Some people just can’t be pleased. Democrats eat Republicans but Republicans eat their own, like McCain, Graham, O’Connell, and Ryan.

I wonder how much access an ‘ethics advisor’ has in the White House data base? I wouldn’t think that Ivanka would sabotage him knowingly, but I do hope clearance is highly restricted.

Is Ivanka protecting her friend Chelsea?

Oh.dear. this will not end well for Trumpski.

Because if he thought that would insulate him from Hillary’s attacks, it hasn’t worked.

Trump’s people are not shy about mentioning sites they read. They know the power and benefit of encouraging such forums. Perhaps one or more has mentioned, linked, or tweeted re FR. I haven’t seen anything along those lines, but maybe someone else has?

I agree with you on one thing [and probably a lot more ...]

This is a moment when we should remove the campaign pom-poms and put on the ‘critical thinking’ hat most of the time.

This is a post-election cycle, not a campaign cycle.

Right...They know nothing about FR. Not even Bannon.

FR is a pretty small site that no one has heard of..Trump or his people would never think to read this site.

I hear ya.

why do you think trump will Investigate clinton now that he has promoted wife of teneo bigwig???

Investigating clinton means investigating the teneo involvement

That's one of the reasons that I advocate a Constitutionally automatic grand jury upon any change in President; it needs to be a process that is out of the either the current or previous administration's hands.

Look at how many posts are on this thread trying to claim no one in Trump’s camp would ever think to read FR.

What’s the point of that pom pom charade.

LOLOL
