Nobody had to tell Corrina Mehiel about the white privilege that killed her. It was a major focus of her life as a white Social Justice Warrior disguised as an artist.
Earlier this month, that work took her to George Washington University in the nation’s capital. There she was part of a project drawing attention to one feature of white privilege or another.
This time, lead paint in old houses occupied predominantly by black people.
Just a few days after she was photographed with Nancy Pelosi grinning in approval, friends found Mehiel tied up, stabbed, tortured, and ultimately dead at the hands of El Hadji Alpha Madiou Toure, a black man arrested driving her car and using her debit card.
He said he didn’t do it.
Even the newest practitioner of Critical Race Theory learns that the expectation of safety is a white thing: Black people don’t have it. So why should white people think they deserve it?
That is what activists by the score told Tracey Halvorsen, in response to her article titled “Baltimore, You Are Breaking My Heart,” detailing the day to day black on white harassment, threats, violence and murder in her gentrified Baltimore neighborhood. I was surprised while hiking in the Ramapo Mountains along the border of NY & NJ how many Italians were involved in mining up there in the early 20th century. Too many mob movies give the impression of Italians as solely city dwellers when they came here (often from farms over there). A couple of their parishes are still there, and because there is no more mining it would make one wonder why people ever settled there (though now they’re fairly wealthy suburbs of NYC).

Yes; there are three clusters of them, but I’ve only dealt with the Ringwood ones. Never hiked in Hillburn (which is the most “normal” bunch, as I understand it), and haven’t gone far enough into the woods in Mahwah yet.
They’re still trying to scam their way to federal tribal recognition, though they are just run-of-the-mill mulattos with no “Indian” blood. They have their own documentary (HBO?) trying to wring money out of Ford as well (for dumping chemicals there decades ago (when it wasn’t illegal anyway).

NJ is such a varied and interesting state. Everything from seashores to mountains and everything in between.
People see it from the Turnpike and that is all they know.
This was a great place to grow up but is now a terrible place to own a home. Everything so close, as you describe, but so expensive with little return.
I know—have two adult sons still in NJ.
Both can’t wait to leave.
Cost benefit analysis is big on the negative side.
Sadly many are leaving, and it is compounding the problem (though I don’t blame them one bit); they are being replaced by people who contribute little to nothing while expecting everything, and employers are leading the exodus because they don’t want to pay all of the newcomers’ bills either...
The irony is strong with this case.
Christians must note that it probably had to be a heck of an effort from Satan, the prince of darkness, to deceive Corrie and her dumb parents that they were fighting for a just cause.
I’m thinking maybe centuries worth of evil indoctrination to get to the point where some moron liberal in Europe would sacrifice herself for a muslim cause.
I can’t wait for this “prince” to be tossed into the bottomless pit for 1,000 years.
Probably just a case of simple-minded liberalism. Rejecting those Christian values but deciding there must be a God, an embracing of islam, which offers a false god (Satan) who has no son (islamic texts say this) rejecting the One and Only True Messiah in Christ.
