The U.S. Department of Defense has confirmed that a U.S. counter-terrorism airstrike conducted March 19 in Paktika Province, Afghanistan, resulted in the death of Qari Yasin, a well-known al Qaida terrorist leader responsible for the deaths of dozens of innocent victims, including two American service members.
Yasin, a senior terrorist figure from Balochistan, Pakistan, had ties to Tehrik-e Taliban and had plotted multiple al Qaida terror attacks, including the Sept. 20, 2008, bombing on the Marriott Hotel in Islamabad that killed dozens of innocent people, among them U.S. Air Force Maj. Rodolfo I. Rodriguez and Navy Cryptologic Technician Third Class Petty Officer Matthew J. OBryant.
Yasin was also responsible for the 2009 attack on a bus carrying the Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore. Six Pakistani policemen and two civilians were killed and six members of the team injured.
"The death of Qari Yasin is evidence that terrorists who defame Islam and deliberately target innocent people will not escape justice," said Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis.
Shucks. Not the terrorist leader I was hoping for.
I’m concerned about Mattis. He’s parroting the false idea that the terrorists don’t represent REAL Islam. WRONG!!
We killed the leader! We won!
(haven’t we killed the leader about 85 or 90 times by now? Anybody after 15 years catching on that this tactic isn’t a war winner?)
+1 Islam = Islam; no exceptions
“”The death of Qari Yasin is evidence that terrorists who defame Islam and deliberately target innocent people will not escape justice,” said Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis.”
In the old corps there was a saying...”gone Asiatic”. The moron believes this “terrorists aren’t Islamic crap”.
That’s what I liked about Flynn.
Man, if Chesty Puller were still around, we wouldn’t have to worry about ANY of these terrorists messin’ with us!
Mattis is not impressing me, so far. :(
Unleash The Dogs of War, Already! Rid the world of this cancerous FILTH.
To me, Mattis basically seems like a more aggressive version of the same leadership we’ve had for 15+ years.
But he doesn’t understand that the neocon worldview and strategy is the problem, so I can’t see how his attitude will make much difference.
8 years of this will have us exactly where we are in Afghanistan. A place that that Taliban will overrun the minute we depart.
His strategy in Syria is to install a Saudi friendly Sunni rebel government.
At best, under Mattis we might avoid complete humiliation, but that’s about it.
The Lion of the Desert.
Heh. Yeah.
“Cut off the head, the body dies.” Umm... Nope.
Cut off the head and 2 more grow in its place.
Kill the body, all of it. every single cell of it, then mount the head on a pike.
Kill them all.
All who join.
All who support.
All who make excuses for them.
All who finance them.
Then we need to get up off our moral cowardice and deal with islam as the abhorrent degeneracy of an ideology that it is.
This is great and we are invited into Afghanistan , so it is legal under international law. Good Job.
The legality isn’t the problem. We were invited there on September 11th. The problem is the morons in charge who think the same strategy, executed a more forcefully, will make a bit of difference. Does anyone sane think we will be more ruthless than the USSR was? There simply -isn’t- a level of force that will make them into a civilized place.
In 8 years it will be exactly the same. We spend about 13 billion on Afghanistan each year. We ain’t there to do a single thing now except channel money to the defense world.
“All who finance them.”
THIS
“Then we need to get up off our moral cowardice and deal with islam as the abhorrent degeneracy of an ideology that it is.”
And THIS
Yep. Exactly.
However, if *I* ran our Military, the time for kicking @ss and taking names would already be OVER.
We ARE at war. We have BEEN at war since 9/11.
And so few understand that. :(
Any dead ISIS, Taliban, Al Qaeda etc. leader is a “PLUS” in my book. Don’t care how many of them there are, just as long as they keep dying.
Did you know that there are no Life Insurance companies in Afghanistan who will insure any terrorist leader’s life?
Makes one stop and think. INCOMING!
It's "next cockroach up" in the war on cockroaches(WOT).
Why not just shut up about these hits...
...or is it just me?
