Oh for Pete’s sake. The whiner NeverTrumpers here think they won an election.
My co-author Joel is right: big win for. Trump. He acted like he was playing ball, letting idiot RINOS shoot themselves, while showing the Freedom Caucus that while he sympathizes, they don’t have the votes to do anything.
Take your neverTrumperism elsewhere. This is the big time.

The conservatives will proceed with their demand for a full repeal of Obamacare. And then they will face the ire of voters who are deeply unhappy with Obamacare but upset about losing the paltry, expensive health insurance they currently have.So we'll wait until 2018 - the next chance for voters to weigh in - until we can take the next step?
What's Joel trying to say?

Why do you think there was no bombshell out today on the wire tapping. Its because it was pulled at the same time the health care bill was.It was pulled because they are hearing some closed-door testimony related to Nunes' new information before proceeding with the public testimony.

Donald Trump was elected president last November, and a big reason for it was that Americans were starting to get notices in late October and early November about outrageous increases in their insurance premiums.
Once they go through a similar disaster later in 2017, a lot of people will be ready to replace their Congressmen -- from both parties -- with piles of dog sh!t. Ten bucks says Obamacare gets completely overhauled in the last two months of 2017.

It’s amazing to watch all the hand-wringers and pearl clutchers rant as if Trump were just another politician doing the same ole politician thing. LOL
Many are the same ones who were swooning over what an outsider, a breath of fresh air he is. (and I think he is)

No offense, but I've seen this dog and pony show before. congress found nothing actionable at the irs, epa, fast & furious, Bengazi, clinton servers and many more obviously criminal destruction of evidence cases. But I'm sure this time will be different/s

We’ve been played.... AGAIN.
I can’t wrap my head around the notion of American citizens who think it’s alright for our government to FORCE us to buy insurance!!!
Hugo Chavez, yes.... Castro, yes... but here in the USA?!?!?

However when Obama care hits rock bottom, those affected and those who care about those affected will point a finger at Trump.

When a President visits Capital Hill to twist arms, his heart is in it. When he calls Representatives until almost midnight, his heart is in it. When he hosts the various factions to get consensus, his heart is in it.

That is not how it likely goes down at all. You exaggerate the risk to Democrats. Republicans are in charge of House, Senate, and White House but have poor party discipline and cannot govern effectively without Democrat votes. Republicans however will be blamed for everything that goes wrong in the country, including a failing Obamacare which they promised to repeal and replace. They just failed that promise today.
Democrats will not vote for a fix to Obamacare unless their party backs it. They have tight party discipline. To get their votes President Trump will have to offer them something like Single Payer, perhaps on an experimental basis in states that choose it. I expect the public at large will like it initially because most people are not so idealogical when it comes to benefits like Social Security and Medicare. If Trump gets Democrat votes, it will be for a Grand Bargain and he will get majorities of both Democrats and Republicans.

Trump will propose single payer within the month, and the Dems will accept the wall and deportation.
I expect a grand bargain but not that quickly. He will try again one more time to get tax reform with Republican votes. I have little confidence in obstructionists in the Republican party. They have almost no party loyalty and may not realize until it is too late what they lost. OTOH, they make learn today's lesson quickly we can hope and be loyal to our President and take the next deal.

“I was somewhat disconcerted by the Presidents seemingly enthusiastic support of the bill”
That’s a tactic to ensure one’s opposition does not become an issue. It’s a “for sake of argument” move, aka “give ‘em enough rope and they’ll hang themselves”. Trump comes out of this without anyone blaming him for opposing the attempt - because he didn’t; the bill failed on its own merits, not from culpable actions on his part.

You’re on a good roll!
In an ideal world I would envision freedom would mean the ability to do pretty much whatever you define as your “pursuit of happiness” regardless of what the gov’t or anyone else thinks. Problem is, sometimes our pursuit infringes on the pursuits of others, so we have laws that go beyond what the Constitution specifically defines. And that leads to the slippery slope we’re now on...
But if the gov’t is going to have a role, at least let’s hope it becomes one like Rand Paul talks about where it removes barriers that increase costs and encourages competition by getting the hell out of the way.

Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.), House Intelligence Committee chair, announces that he has asked FBI Director James Comey and Adm. Mike Rogers to address the entire committee in a closed session. I was so happy Wednesday when Nunes came forward... it really gave me hope that we could actually get past the stupid "The Russians stole the election for Trump" BS and, as a bonus we would prove what we already know, that Obama spied on Trump.
Today, Nunes weasels out big time... major letdown for sure. Now, he's going to secretly meet with the 2 main suspects in the case. What on earth is he thinking? Does he think they'll just confess? He's going to reveal his source, and the source will no longer be of any use.
This is a really bad turn of events, and will probably give Congress (Dems + Rinos) the courage to impeach Trump. I see this as the end of the republic... it's over now.
