Used to deal with this. The most price fixing MF’s out there. Because of their economies of scale they are always low cost. Them and the other super ships. They set pricing at a little below what small ships can haul. It is a huge scam. Lots of artificial entry barriers to the big stuff. Onassis made his fortune on this. Taking them on is dangerous but delicious. Think of these super ships as Ford plants with no rules. $5000 an hour in operating cost while docked. $20000 while hauling. These are extraterritorial manufacturing plants with no rules. Great scam to get in on if you are richer than God. Then add on top the smuggling opportunities for floating 50 story buildings on their side. Ship owners are the worst of the worst.
Wow.
I see those cases everywhere in Florida.
On the Chesapeake as well. Great lumbering floating billboards plying their way to and from Baltimore, with “Maersk” or “Cosco” prominently displayed on their flanks. More stuff for Walmart.

Shipping is another area where we need to take back the industry. Our commercial fleet used to be the envy of the world.
Now almost every ship is flagged in some other country. Probably because of taxes.
In 1960 we had 2926 ships capable of carrying 1000 gross tons. By 2000 we were down to 282.
This is another one of those strategic assets that are important in a world war.
Our leadership has been so stupid. Stupid stupid stupid.
we used to create a favorable tax policy towards American ships. ( Tariff of 1789 ).
poorly phrased.....
Stuff for America
American stuff for the world
