Defense Secretary Gen. James Mattis wants to nominate a senior fellow at a Soros-funded think tank as undersecretary at the Pentagon, as the embattled Cabinet official continues to clash with the White House over prospective nominees.
Politico reports that Mattis wants Rudy deLeon — a senior fellow at the far-left Center for American Progress (CAP) — to come on board as undersecretary for personnel and readiness.
DeLeon previously served in the Clinton administration as deputy secretary of defense. During that time, Gen. Mattis served as his senior military assistant.
DeLeon worked for Boeing as senior vice president from 2001 to 2006 and currently serves on the board of major defense company General Dynamics.
This appears to be a peculiar choice for an undersecretary, given that deLeon recently endorsed a letter opposing the president’s immigration moratorium from six terror-linked countries. The letter calls Trump’s national security order “beneath the dignity of our great nation” and advised government workers to apply “discretion,” in an attempt to essentially undermine the president’s initiative.
As a CAP official, he has engaged in campaigns to advance “progressive values.” deLeon advocates for government to take “steps that will be a lasting legacy to the progressive societies for decades to come.” He is also a proponent of President Obama’s Iran nuclear deal with the terror state in Tehran.

Mattis wanting to appoint partisan Democrats to Team Trump is beyond the pale. He needs a good pep talk from POTUS about playing for the team or hitting the bricks. It’s his choice.

Doesn’t work on the battlefield, the last administration didn’t do it and their agenda to destroy the republic was very successful, and this is truly a war.
I have to admit that so far it is only his appointments that are wack. Problem is, WE WANT THE STINKING SWAMP DRAINED, not fed fresh bacteria. I’ve been trying to keep up with his work (not that anything the DOD does should be public) because of reservations I had and what he says and has done so far doesn’t appear to be bad. I watched him and Gen Dunford today and they do want more hardware.

Yah, me, too. Mattis has to realize he got his job because CONSERVATIVES voted for Trump and CONSERVATIVES howled at Petraeus being given any position in this administration because we know he was/is a progressive, believes in a North American Union, and was advising zero even after his adultery. I have always wondered what parts of the COIN strategy were Petraeus and what parts Mattis.

I contacted them. This bill DOES NOT go after them as conjectured by comments on this thread. What they want is some type of classification in the bill that will ALLOW ITS MEMBERS to enjoy HSA’s and bypass the 30% penalty. They are urging its members to get the needed language added to this bill as they are not technically an insurance company.
I love Mattis quotes. Used them to moto my son at boot camp. Wonder what parts of the COIN strategy and rules of engagement he fought under were Mattis. I love the Red Letter Editions of the New Testament! :)

I think that’s exactly what is going on with Mattis.
Too many of our generals retire to a career of treason.
Unless Mattis is a complete idiot (and I don't think he is), something else is at work.
And the only thing that can be in these particular cases is that he is attempting to confound the enemy by sending false overtures to them.
Trump has done the same thing on several occasions.
