GOP Senators Hope to Sneak Amnesty into Trump’s Popular Immigration Reforms

Business advocates who want to import more foreign consumers and more foreign workers are developing plans to counter President Donald Trump’s popular call for a merit-based immigration reform.

The emerging strategy is to pair offers of minor concessions to Americans and Trump with demands for giveaways to business, including a bigger supply of low-wage workers and welfare-funded consumers. The immigration “pairing” strategy is being pushed by the industry-backed Business Policy Council, in cooperation with GOP Sen. Thom Tillis.

The strategy collides with Trump’s emphasis on raising Americans’ wages via “merit-based immigration,” which is also backed by a new productivity-boosting immigration drafted by two GOP Senators, David Perdue and Tom Cotton. “Real and positive immigration reform is possible, as long as we focus on the following goals: to improve jobs and wages for Americans, to strengthen our nation’s security, and to restore respect for our laws,” Trump told Congress February 28.

The business push for “pairing” creates a risk for the many Americans worried about cheap-labor migration, said Mark Krikorian, the executive director of the Center for Immigration Studies. President Trump “has the potential to be taken to the cleaners by [Sen.] Chuck Schumer because [immigraton] is something he doesn’t know anything about… hopefully [Steve] Bannon and [Stephen] Miller will prevent this from happening.”

... welfare-funded consumers.

They take it away from me and my family and give it to a bunch of bottom-feeding, America-hating foreigners to spend to help the economy. You know what? That really sucks.

Unless you meant they take YOUR property, you’d be incorrect.

Not ONE shred of govt ‘provided’ welfare should be an option; govt only has that which it takes from another. NO person has the moral, nor ethical, authority to be granted the time/property of another by the end-of-the-gun.

Govt failing to do its most *basic* of charges should be an immediate dismissal for dereliction of duty.

Great chart. I have soured in George W Bush in an extreme way and this chart you posted does nothing to bring me back to him. Terrible President who did about as much to drive up our debt as Obama did. Sixteen straight years of nonstop, unchecked borrowing coupled with reckless spending that has been an anchor around our economy for 10 years. RINOs all went along with it too. A pox on all their houses.

Please, President Trump, bring some sanity back even if some GOPe heads have to roll to do it.

Yep, like the ‘42 Bracero program. They weren’t fighting in WWII.
Carefully supervised it could work. If they want to apply for immigration status they can do it the right way this time: by getting in line like all the other applicants who aren’t grade school dropouts with no job skills but possible criminal records causing Mexico to boot them.
This would need diligent oversight or they will again become cholo public charges and menaces to society.
The Germans imported Turk menial laborers who were supposed to go home at age 45. They’re still there.

“. These Idiots are like roaches .... Just when you think you got rid of them .... They’re back. “

And the roaches are not just the opposition party. There’s a couple of geriatric roaches like status quo McCain, and his side kick Lindsay.

Democrat BFFs!

The question is why it did not happen in the recent election cycles? Most GOP congressional leaders have been out of the closet as open borders fanatics for over 10 years now. Most have survived multiple primary challenges from respectable and qualified opponents who had no major problems. But voters chose to reelect the bad actors again and again.
