Although Ivanka Trump lacks a formal White House job, the presidents older daughter is moving into her own West Wing office, an administration representative said a move that increases her profile as an influential, although unofficial, adviser to her father.
Ivanka Trump will not be on the government payroll or officially bound by its ethics rules, but she said in a statement to Politico that she will voluntarily follow those restrictions. She also acknowledged the unusual nature of her emerging role.
I will continue to offer my father my candid advice and counsel, as I have for my entire life, Ivanka Trump in the statement. While there is no modern precedent for an adult child of the president, I will voluntarily follow all of the ethics rules placed on government employees.

WAPO article says she is going to ban using her image
There is ONE Word in these articles that should scare everyone here.
Hint: Starts with a "G"
Jamie Gorelick!
Oops, the word is so bad WAPO doesn’t mention it. LOLOL. It is in the article from the other thread....
It’s a name.
Starts with a G
Gender? Gynocology? Goo Be Gone?
And I heard yesterday her lawyer is radical left wing activist Jamie Gorelick. How can that happen?
Is Gorelick an aide...or a minder?
Her husband is interested in politics.
HEE HEE..you didn’t even need the article. (WAPO doesn’t mention her)
You got it right.
Soros-—Gorelick——Josh Kushner——Ivanka’s Trust
Under the Kevin Bacon rule of 6.
Didn’t first lady Hillary have an office in the West Wing, and that was OK with liberals then? A family member who held no official office or administrative function had an offi e there and that was OK. What is fundamentally different about this???? That it is a daughter not a wife???
I think President Trump should tell his daughter to pack up her husband, kids and go back to New York...
Her whispering is liberal ideas which she and her husband has and will foul up the works...
She has three small children, a business, we voted for her father and we don’t need her liberalism getting in the way of what we want for our country...
Interesting that the WaPo article never mentioned Gorelick....
Amen!
Daily Mail mentions Gorelick.
Will be interesting to see if WAPO avoids using the name as much as possible
I still maintain Trump was and still is our only hope.I am not sure he can do it given the forces against him.
HOWEVER, I ABSOLUTELY 100% REJECT the fact that his daughter and her husband are using Gorelick for ETHICS advice as they take their West Wing offices. This is not one time advice either.
There are plenty of lawyers out there.
Was that Al's kiss at his nomination?
Ivanka is, in the absence of Melania (who is currently residing in New York City), the de facto First Lady. She has no official political duties, and no political implications as to her effect on Trump Administration are evident.
This is actually an excellent sounding board for President Trump to have in regards knowing in depth what the liberal mindset may be, and while he respects his daughter and son-in-law, he does not demand unwavering fealty from them.
I’m sorry, but this is a horrible precedent. As is having her Democrat husband as a senior advisor.
LOL. This guy is exploding over it
“Robert Reich, who served under the Bill Clinton administration and has been a strong critic of Mr Trumps alleged conflicts of interest, was quick to react to the news that Ms Trump would be setting up in the West Wing.
Ivanka into the White House? Its like a coup, and the dictators family is moving into the palace as it prepares to the loot the country, he wrote on twitter.”
I agree. Ivanka is beautiful, elgant, etc. But just because she is the President’s daughter doesn’t mean I must like her or appreciate her intruding into the presidency. Many presidents have had an adult child help with the political side of things. Why can’t she do that?
Neither, whatever Ms. Trump’s virtues or flaws, she is very much her own person, with her own mind.
Ivanka, is probably more a combination of sounding board and public alter ego. An extension of her father, who will give her relative freedom selectively to act unofficially in his stead. A protector of her father’s flanks from both foes and well meaning friends.
In a sense she fleshes out a portion of the First Lady role that I personally believe that which Melania Trump is uncomfortable. Melania Trump strikes me as a more private person, what ever advice she provides her husband, she provides in private.
Whatever the role is, she probably know more than anyone else in the White House that her father, and only her father, is the Boss
