“...there was an attempt to rescue the POW’s.”
Yeah. They sent in Hanoi Jane to lead them out.
That went well.
FUJM, your free ride proclaiming yourself such a hero is over.
Your behavior since then is horrendous.
The left making a “hero” of McCain again. The man is a disgrace to this nation, but because he is part of the establishment and an enemy of the president, the left is gonna praise him again and again.
Did Clyde Crashcup (aka McCain) wet start his A-4E?
I’m sorry I voted for this slimeball Manchurian Candidate. Only the fact that a worse human being was elected modifies this sorrow.
Nothing worse than vets who continually exploit their veteran status. McS***bag used has been pimping out his shoot-down for over 50 years, but now he's down to using it to win the bitch-spats he gets into.
Your dad's instincts were right John - you're still the f***up he had you out to be.
McCain is no hero. He did nothing to save the lives of others, he performed no feat to turn the tide of a battle by risking his own life, he did nothing that true heroes are known for.
But he has never failed to play up his victim status into an embellished ‘hero’ story.
As President Trump has said, the Yemen mission was a great success because of the extensive and valuable intelligence that was uncovered. McCain seems to conveniently forget that detail when he misleads by saying the mission was a failure.
Gallup doesn't have the nads to take that poll now in 2017...
I have no doubt that Benedict Arnold, Washington’s greatest general, offered a similar defense for his treason against his fledgling nation. McCain’s suffering is worthy of respect, but is not broad license for the rest of his life. As every securities advertisement warns, “Past performance does not guarantee future results.”
If there is a McLame scandal in the works I hope it breaks in the next week. At this point I don’t even care what it is. My first choice would be bribery by the Iranians, second would be that the Russians paid him and third would be pedogate.
McCain, not Spicer nor Trump, was the one who called the Yemen raid a failure and then had to backtrack. This article makes no sense except as a fake indignation story. He only brutally told himself off.
Dear John,
re: RVN prison camp raid. We sent Bull Simon and a bunch of Snake Eaters to raid Son Tay, nowhere near were you were. It was a clusterfluck because of faulty intel.
re: President Trump. John, Shut up, go stand in line somewhere. No one diminishes your service, but being a POW does not make you an expert, or anything else, on current world activities, especially things military.
John, lunch is in 4 hours. Go take a nap.
Ann Coulter nailed it. These people like McCain, John Lewis, Gabby Gifford, etc come out as attack digs but then hide behind their victim/hero status when called out.
I had no idea McStain was a POW during Vietnam. I knew he crash landed on the USS Forestfire and destroyed a dozen planes and something like 100 guys died - but that’s all I knew- WOW!
Sean Spicer hardly “ scathed” the senile old Mccain
In verbal battles John fights like a girl
Say something snotty and walk away
McCain while overseas called the Yemen mission a failure before the real hero’s coffin even reached the grieving widow
When Trump addressed the success of the mission at his State speech you could see that poor woman finally cave to her sense of relief and love for her husband
"Thank God he was captured before the Navy ran out of airplanes. Having lost five aircraft already, he'll be remembered as the first Soviet ace of the Cold War.
LMAO.
I don’t see how that is some kind of “brutal rejoinder” by McCain. But this is the Washington Post.
John should go join his hero in Bora Bora.
John McCain: Typical military vet who thinks he’s then qualified for politics and using his experiences (whatever they might be) as proof that he’s got what it takes.
He’s been insane for quite some time.
