Senator Nelson from Florida has filed a restrictive bill that would stifle innovation and experimentation, without significantly impacting terrorists or criminals. Interestingly, a complete exemption would be included for the U.S. government and agencies. The bill is titled the Undetectable Firearms Modernization Act of 2017.
Nelson mis-characterizes the state of the art with this falsehood:
I would like to see Senator Nelson back up his claim with a demonstration. Even the plastic replica found at the Reno airport, was detected because of the metal in the *ammunition*. Even Defense Distributed used a metal firing pin in the design of its Liberator pistol. Senator Nelson cited the non-firing replica from Reno in his announcement. Thanks to advances in technology, anyone with a 3-D printer can simply print a fully-functioning firearm that can be snuck through a metal detector without being noticed, Nelson said. These guns pose a real threat to our safety and we need to be doing everything we can to keep them off the streets and out of the hands of those who wish to do harm.
Both lawmakers cite an August incident where TSA Agents at the Reno-Tahoe International Airport found and confiscated a plastic gun from a passengers carry-on bag during screening. The gun, assembled using a 3-D printer, was found loaded with five live .22 caliber bullets.
The plastic copy was known to be a non-firing replica by August 9th. From kolotv.com:

Those have to be protected for the BLM crowd...
Don-cha-know that those are the only thing that will kill them White walkers (except for Valerian steel, which will be banned too.)
Mark
What, are you worried about white walker attacks?
It’s time for everyone to buy “Glocks and many rifles” as a precaution against such a ban. This will, probably, be defeated, but we should still buy whatever the thugs on the left want to ban.
Anyone know where I can get ahold of one of those 3D Printer .50 Caliber Barrett’s or do I need to call the Senator’s Office to find out?
This Ping List is for all things pertaining to the 2nd Amendment.
FReepmail me if you want to be added to or deleted from the list.
The TSA fails 95% of the time when they are tested.
Calling Nelson a moron would be an insult to morons....AND his brothers from other mothers Sweet Lindsay, and Vietnam Songbird McLame
Those who violate their oath to protect and defend the Constitution by attacking the Constitution should be stoned.
“As an amateur machinist I think I could make a non-metallic gun without a 3D printer. I wouldnt bother making it look like a snazzy Glock.”
I had that discussion with someone once. We worked nights at a hotel were just having fun with no plans to actually produce any thing. We thought a medical device such as a cane or leg brace could be easily modified. You just need some that doesn’t look scary
Already bought mine, a Glock 22, 4th Gen... not a fan of the “safety” though. Glock actually recommends carrying without chambering a round, which I don’t consider to be tactically smart.
I like Glocks (and love 33 rounds instead of the 8 for my 1911!), but I would never carry with a round chambered. I’ve never had a negligent discharge with a 1911 or any other firearm, but Glocks are different. I’ve seen too many “oopsie” videos, and you always know it’s going to be a Glock even before you see the gun.
My Glock 17 has an empty chamber. The natural motion of drawing a weapon, which is combined with taking off the safety for a 1911, is different with the Glock. When drawing the Glock, I automatically chamber a round - and then keep my finger off the trigger unless I want a loud noise.
“This is a Glock 40. I’m the only one who’s professional enough to handle one of these . . .”

It never gets old, but I never forget either.
lol... I remember that video.
Wonder if a flame thrower or laser would work on White Walkers
