MadCow and NBC made money “publishing” the forms. They should also be prosecuted.

You know how corporations are law suit averse?

Maybe it’s time for Trump to give them good reason why to be.

I note that Americans across the nation are caving on issues, because they fear suits.

Time for the Left to feel some pain on that.

Not the way i read the statute. Plus, Trump's spokesman didn't release a return.

But, the potential defendants do have a reasonable argument, and if charged, I would expect them to raise this defense.

Both of them broke the law, and there’s no way they can deny it.

You know how this game goes.

The liberal judges will say that Trump is such an important public figure that the public's right to know outweighs the penalty of federal law.

On the other hand, Obama's state right to privacy over his birth records in Hawaii outweighed the public's right to know of his eligibility documentation.

*******

The White House released the information, but not a copy of any part of the return.

However, we have both criminal and possible civil action here.

Their publishing the 2 pages without Trump’s consent is a crime. It seems that the proper legal authority enforcing agent would have to bring those charges, not Trump’s legal team—although Trump has some influence about whether he wants to press charges or not.

Trump could also take civil action. That would require him to prove damages of some kind, and probably also expose him to discovery actions and requests from the defendants.

FR legal types need to weigh in on this. TIA.

Rachel Maddow stepped on a rake earlier this week by releasing Trump’s 1040 tax return form from 2005.

The forfeiture is miniscule but the 5 years in prison will cause them to lose their jobs, pay the fine and the prosecution costs, plus their defense costs ultimately coming out of prison as a known felon. What could be better? GO FOR THE THROAT!!!!!

You want to go for the throat?
1) indict everyone in the chain of command up to the CEO.
2) Since there were many individuals involved, you have a conspiracy to do this. Add a conspiracy charge to the indictment.
3) Since there are 2 underlying felonies, add a RICO charge and freeze the assets of all involved, including the owning corporation.

That’s going for the throat.

Then sing in harmony ... “One step over the line sweet baby ...”.
