The judge who halted President Donald Trumps revised travel ban is the only Native Hawaiian serving on the federal bench.
Nominated by former President Barack Obama in 2012, U.S. District Judge Derrick Kahala Watson is the fourth Native Hawaiian federal judge in U.S. history.

Well, over a lot of other places homeless people might go, they won’t freeze to death in Hawaii.
People from South Asia likely arrived in Hawaii before Polynesians:
MICRONESIA MYSTERY
On a tiny island of Micronesia lies one of archaeology great mysteries — the ruins of the ancient canal city of Nan Madol (500 CE), home of 1,000 royal and elite islanders. It is built of uncut stones weighing up to 50 tons on artificial islets bearing residences, meeting houses, a palace, tombs, temples, baths and artificial ponds. Basalt columns laid end-to-end extend half a mile into the lagoon. Twelve vertical columns found planted 2,100 feet below the ocean’s surface may be man-made. Nan Madol disappeared in the 17th century. According to archaeologist Prof. Ayres (University of Oregon) the intricacy of the design suggests external cultural influence, probably from Asia. This may give weight to the theory that Hinduism once flourished deep into the Pacific, as far as Hawaii.” — Hinduism Today, hinduismtoday.com December, 1992.
Interesting that Obama is in Hawaii today...Hmm
some native hawaiians seem to have a chip on their shoulder about being taken over by the USA.
Until this “muslim invader” issue is resolved, send them all to either Hawaii or to a sanctuary city.
There is little difference between Michael Brown and this judge.
Like in Ferguson, Chin strong-armed the U.S. Constitution.

Just another ethnic minority nationalist socialist, bent on subverting America to a regime of liberal fascism rather than enforce the law?
Will Trump go to the Supreme Court, or will he send in the military to enforce the ban at ports of entry? Or both?
I have a feeling that the Democratic party in Hawaii will be shrinking even faster when they pull stunts like this.
Much more criticism than support not to mention the alienation of the image of Hawaii.
I’m a deep hard core conservative from Alaska but i have no issues with buying a piece of property on the islands right now so i can enjoy a warmer climate in the winter, used to be the islands were exclusive Democratic, not any more. They are weak, have no leadership, and conservative people see that and will use it to change the demographic structure.
If the Judiciary is politicized against the Trump agenda and the Congress is controlled by the uniparty and won’t restrict the court’s jurisdiction, how can the people prevail against a tyrannical state bent on their subjugation?
Isn’t there a Leper colony on Hawaii? Send the “refugees” there.
Get ‘em where it hurts-their tourist industry. Send all “refugees” to HI.
Meanwhile, get Judge Gorsuch confirmed and let it go to SCOTUS
This is today's “Progressive”.
Right or wrong, these judges literally get away with acts that result in murder of innocent people and never suffer a hint of retribution, which should bring them to the gallows.
No such thing as native hawaiian.
They only beat Captain Cook by a few hundred years.””
Exactly, I call myself a Native American since my ancestors from both sides of my family came here in the 17th century. The claim that the first tribe who came to a land is somehow a native has always been a ridiculous assertion.
Either Trump or congress can do something and must. There are ways around blackrobed criminals who put national security at risk costing the lives of citizens. This is war and either innocent citizens or guilty judges die.
Was he a member of the Choom Gang?
Wow - who knew that the Constitution gave veto power over the functioning of the Executive branch to judges from Hawaii???
I must have missed that section of the Constitution.
