A facial recognition app that can identify strangers from a photograph has been created by a British entrepreneur.
Facezam can identify people by matching a photo of them with their Facebook profile. All users have to do is take a picture of someone on the street and run it through the app, which will tell them who it thinks the person in the photo is.

Not everyone on facebook actually puts their own pic as their avatar.
This isn’t new, I have heard of othe companies doing it. It reminds me of the movie Minority Report, when the protagonist goes to a shopping mall and signs start to target him with personalized ads based upon his retina.
Don't worry, you'll get to participate when they are done Beta testing this.

Hopefully you don't have relatives or friends who incessantly ID you in photos they post....
Some movies are eerily prophetic. Almost as if they were conditioning the masses.
Right now my Facebook profile is a photo of my grandmother when she was a young woman over 100 years ago.
One of my Fakebook profiles features a photo of my great-great aunt in a 'Hope-N-Change' filter. (One of several fake profiles I have)
When it comes to this kind of stuff, anything I can do, the government can do a hundred times better.
I remember the first time Facebook correctly identified my wife in a photo. It was creepy.
They are always at least a decade ahead in terms of technology.

Heh heh heh. Of course a certain giant facility in Utah would match your photo to your IP address and the device requesting the search and catalog that you were misusing their system.

Hope you're not looking for a job. Employers are suspicious of people with no social media footprint. They think they are either anti-social or have something to hide.

Cuckerberg's construction is simply a large experiment by the Intelligence Community to map social connections and to drive cultural shifts.
If you participate in society (you do) you will be affected.
