50% reduction in UN funding.
It appears this POTUS intends to do as he promised. Folks are going to have a hard time adjusting to that, but they will.

Because you start somewhere, and be happy with that for now. Then you come back later for more.

we have to show the world that we umm, “care” and all that crap. 1% in funding should do just fine to retain a seat.

“Why not 100%?”
While he railed against the UN on the campaign trail and indicated we send them too much money, I don’t recall him ever saying he would totally cut them off. Or that we would pull out.
I suspect it’s because he’s trying to do what he said he was going to do.

State Department staffers have been instructed to seek cuts in excess of 50 percent in U.S. funding for U.N. programs, signaling an unprecedented retreat by President Donald Trumps administration from international operations that keep the peace, provide vaccines for children, monitor rogue nuclear weapons programs, and promote peace talks from Syria to Yemen line the pockets of petty despots while bashing the USA and Israel nonstop and engage in meaningless and useless debates, according to three sources. Start with 50% and keep cutting bit by bit from there....causes a little less uproar, hopefully.
As far as foreign aid, I say cut it all out. Let each country apply and give good reason why America should hand over its citizens hard-earned money to them.
Very nice of the UN to pay for the wall.

Oh yes. They monitor rogue nuclear weapons programs. Like Iran and North Korea. It must be worth the billions we spend to monitor nuclear weapons programs. I mean, how else will we know?

This POTUS will command respect in every discussion with every foreign government leader.
They see he has a very big stick and is willing to swing it.
Just look at his reaction to the NORKS:
- B-1bs and B-52s
- Specops killing squads
- THAAD
- Killer drones
When it’s time to call Iran short, they will piss themselves.

One should start with UN salaries and perks, which are the most outlandish found for any major international organization. (Perhaps now topped by the EU?)
