~The FReeper Canteen Presents~ Road Trip: Malmstrom Air Force Base, Montana Malmstrom Air Force Base is a United States Air Force base in Great Falls, Cascade County, Montana, United States. It was named in honor of World War II POW Colonel Einar Axel Malmstrom. It is the home of the 341st Missile Wing (341 MW) of the Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC). Malmstrom AFB is one of three US Air Force Bases that maintains and operates the Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile. The 341st Missile Wing reports directly to Twentieth Air Force at F.E. Warren Air Force Base, Wyoming. It is part of Global Strike Command headquartered at Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana. The Air Force has made significant strides and commitments in its efforts to extend the service life of the ICBM force with nearly $6.2 billion committed to life-extension programs. The result is tangible improvements to the combat capability of Malmstrom's Minuteman IIIs, none of which could be accomplished without the hard work of group's 520 maintenance troops. Those current and future improvements aim to extend the service life of the Minuteman III through 2020. The 341st Missile Maintenance Squadron maintains the immediate launch readiness of 150 Minuteman III ICBMs and 15 missile alert facilities spread over a 13,800-square mile complex. They replace limited life components, remove and replace missiles, reentry systems and guidance sets; repair security, command and control, electrical systems and environmental control systems. Technicians also conduct periodic maintenance inspections and perform corrosion control work to sustain launch facilities and missile alert facilities. The 341st Security Forces Group, the largest security forces group in the Air Force, ensures the most stringent security forces' support to the largest intercontinental ballistic missile complex in the world through effective management of all war-fighting and peacetime security taskings assigned to the 341st Missile Wing. The units of the 341st Security Forces Group include the 341st Security Forces Squadron, the 341st Missile Security Forces Squadron, the 741st Missile Security Forces Squadron and the 341st Security Support Squadron. Learn More About Malmstrom Air Force Base HERE!! FR CANTEEN MISSION STATEMENT~Showing support and boosting the morale of our military and our allies military and the family members of the above. Howdy, LUV.
How’d your day go? Is it warming up again or still cool?

Oh, wow, glad you came out unscathed!
Have any crops that have been already planted suffer much?
And, of course, how are those kittehs treating you?

I think you got it right on the second count .... trying to be “cute”. LOL! It’s a bunch of silliness.
Not a silly storm though. Been kind of tracking it on nest cams from MN across to PA and it’s been pretty harsh. Lots of snow and wind.

Well, the house came out unscathed but the brand new well house Hubby put up was crunched by a falling cedar. Gotta tear it down and put up another one.
And several trees to cut up and burn.
He isn’t a happy camper these days.
No crops planted yet. Still too early for that. But many flowers are up early and the fruit trees are all abloom. They’ll take a hit.
Kittehs have been brats all weekend what with the moon being full. They’re a tad calmer this evening but ONLY a tad. LOL

My car is off the street, and I have plenty of coffee, people and doggie food, and a half tank of oil.
So, electricity and the flat roof over my bed are my two concerns.
Don’t tell me to move my bed...it’s too heavy! LOL!

Hey there, radu!
It’s all good here. I even did laundry! :O Not my favorite thing, but I was able to shut Peaches out of the bedroom so I could make up the bed without “help”. LOL!.
It’s warming up here. What do y’all have in store for the rest of the week? I hope you’re done with the snow. I checked on a few eagle nests and it was practically a blizzard! Ack!
It’ll be in the 80s for most of the coming week. Really NOT ready for that yet. Absolutely no rain in the forecast. However, that we got on Saturday wasn’t in the forecast either, so.....

That could be. I have lived through both the Blizzard of 78, and the Insane Hurricane Season of 2005 (The one where they ran out of names, went halfway into the Greek Alphabet, and had a CAT1 on Thanksgiving.)

Ok, I won’t tell you to move your heavy bed but maybe sleeping on the sofa wouldn’t be a bad idea. :-) We don’t want you getting crushed.
Electricity is definitely a big concern. That’s what worries me most for all of you up there.

Wow! News flash! You did laundry! LOL!! And you were able to make the bed without Peaches “helping”. Not always an easy thing to keep kittehs out of the way when making the bed, is it?
We’re going to be pretty cold the next few days here but the weekend is looking good with highs in the 60s. Might get a few flurries late tonight but that’s it for any snow possibilities.
The poor eagles have had a time of it. Got the PA nest cam up now and Momma is encased in snow. :-(
Oooooo, those temps in the 80s sound sooooo good! You’re more than welcome to send them up here if you don’t want them. LOL!

The sofa is also under that roof, and too heavy to move. I may have to sleep on the floor wrapped up in quilts. However, I keep reminding myself that this little trailer is almost 50 years old, and survived the very best New England has had to offer!
Blizzard of 78
The “Perfect Storm”
The Montreal Express
The 14 ft snow drifts of 2014, so I think the ol’ gal is going to make it through!

Aaaaaah, that doesn’t help matters, does it?
But it sounds like your trailer is a stout one to have survived all those storms in the past so you should be good.
One less thing to fret about.

Now my browser is out of date and they are refusing to upgrade it because my OS is old.
I am using Firefox because I like Tabs, on a Vintage MacMini.
Any suggestions out there?
