Trump administration officials guaranteed Sunday that the president will hit the road soon to rally support for the health care bill put forth by House Republicans, saying the White House is fully committed to the legislation.
The president, the vice president, all of us at the White House are fully committed to this bill, and were going to do whatever it takes to get it passed, Gary Cohn, director of the White Houses National Economic Council, said during an interview on Fox News Sunday.

Republicans hold complete control in Washington and ain't doing jack with it.
Him wanting Ryancare doesn’t jibe with the Prez sitting down this morning with regular Americans and discussing how horrible Obamacare has been. I can’t believe he will stump for basically the same thing with a different label.
Patriots, please consider the following about Trumps broken promise to repeal Obamacare.
Im sorry if this is obvious, but it appears that the corrupt lawmakers who drafted Obamacare must have written it to sabotage unconstitutional federal healthcare services like Medicare and Medicaid. Lawmakers probably sabatoged these healthcare services so that a later generation of anti-Obamacare lawmakers would be forced to carefully kill Obamacare so that it would not significantly disrupt these services for citizens who depend on them.
Corrections, insights welcome.
Sadly, regardless that the House has read the Constitution out loud at the beginnings of the last four legislative sessions, it has become evident that RINO lawmakers have no intention of arguing that the states have never expressly constitutionally delegated to the feds the specific power to regulate, tax and spend for INTRAstate healthcare purposes.
So patriots are again warned that if they do not support Trump in peacefully forcing the corrupt feds to surrender state powers that the feds have stolen from the states back to the states, then it is only a matter of time before another lawless president works in cahoots with corrupt Congress to use stolen state powers to oppress the states and their citizens.
Drain the swamp! Drain the swamp!
Remember in November 18 !
Since Trump entered the 16 presidential race too late for patriots to make sure that there were state sovereignty-respecting candidates on the primary ballots, patriots need make sure that such candidates are on the 18 primary ballots so that they can be elected to support Trump in draining the unconstitutionally big federal government swamp.
Such a Congress will also be able to finish draining the swamp with respect to getting the remaining state sovereignty-ignoring, activist Supreme Court justices off of the bench.
Noting that the primaries start in Iowa and New Hampshire in February 18, patriots need to challenge candidates for federal office in the following way.
Patriots need to qualify candidates by asking them why the Founding States made the Constitutions Section 8 of Article I; to limit (cripple) the federal governments powers.
Patriots also need to find candidates that are knowledgeable of the Supreme Court's clarifications of the federal governments limited powers listed below.
Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States. Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
State inspection laws, health laws, and laws for regulating the internal commerce of a State, and those which respect turnpike roads, ferries, &c. are not within the power granted to Congress [emphasis added]. Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added]. United States v. Butler, 1936.
I keep hoping that Trump has some strategy that isn't apparent, but it sure looks like Paul Ryan is calling the shots and he would win if the bill passes or fails. If Trump goes down over this, the uniparty with Ryan at the helm would have won.
It’s like you guys live in your own world.
The majority is TINY. Cruz is either wrong or lying. You can’t ignore the Parliamentarian. There is no conservative support for destroying the Filibuster in such a way.
What is the objection? Seriously? Ryan defunds the individual mandate by setting the fine to zero. The fine text is still there, but says 0. You’re suddenly then concerned about Dems retaking majority and unsetting it to zero, when you weren’t a moment ago when we were talking about the ramifications of eliminating the Filibuster.
He sets the fine to zero. The text is still there. Doods, there are these things called computers now. The text can be repasted even if you erased it. There’s no difference.
“No! There is a difference! They have to have 60 votes to put the text back in! They only need 50 to set the $0 higher!” But wait, you wanted to kill the Filibuster a moment ago. Why are you now embracing 60 votes?
Y’all need to get your thinking consistent on what is possible and what is NOT possible with 52 votes.
The only thing I can come up with is this: He says this “Phase 1” bill does as much as they were “allowed” to do, and that the next two phases will give them the opportunity to create what they want.
Why it has to be this way I really don’t understand. And I don’t know if the Republican Congressional opposition understands this either, or are just playing some kind of weird political game.
Thanks for the laugh. All true... all true.
The Repub house tried to defund obamacare in 2013 via the Continuing Appropriations Resolution, 2014 (H.J.Res 59)...ultimately setting up the government shutdown.(The senate was RAT controlled)
I bring this up as only another option\tool to use, as we now have the senate.
“He says this Phase 1 bill does as much as they were allowed to do, and that the next two phases will give them the opportunity to create what they want.
Why it has to be this way I really dont understand. “
Almost the exact same text was uttered by the Dems in the House in 2010. They did not understand why the Senate with 59 votes could not give them what they wanted.
The answer to your query is this:
1) Forget this bizarre Ted Cruz pretense. He hates Trump and that’s his primary motivation for everything. Just like McCain.
2) The Senate has rules. One is the Filibuster. Invoking Cloture (stopping a filibuster) requires 60 votes.
3) A Reconciliation bill that just reconciles the budget aspects of other bills is immune to filibuster. So it can pass with 51 votes. Other bills that might be filibustered require 60 votes to cloture the filibuster to end.
4) The Dems had to use Reconciliation to get Obamacare passed. The bizarre stuff you hear elsewhere saying this isn’t true is itself not true.
5) Paul Ryan is a devout Catholic who did not want to be Speaker. He’s been Speaker less than 2 years. He became Speaker because there was no one else who could win a majority. He was in the House and watched Pelosi damn near mess up Obamacare with incompetence. She sent forward bills to the Senate that needed 60 votes and the Senate didn’t have 60. Ryan has put together something that can dodge the Senate constraints and get through with 51 votes, because he learned from her incompetence.
That’s the explanation. There is essentially no other explanation that doesn’t delve into evil conspiracies by Ryan, maneuvering his life to become Speaker by just pretending he didn’t want to be Speaker, and also the conspiracies suggest Ryan has somehow been Speaker even when Boehner was.
You WobblyCons are all atwitter trying to hang this around his neck prematurely.
The White House has made it clear that they would sign the bill as is if that's what passed out of Congress. Whatever it is, whatever form it takes, he will own it.
Are you kidding me? He filed papers for re-election the Monday after he was sworn into office. He has all but promised the democrats, he’s going to be around for 8 years.
It almost seems like he wants to get this over with so he can check it off his list. I think people WANT to see the Art of the Deal in action, and that must be what the rallies are about. They’ve put forth a rather weak first offering. We want to see Trumps saying NO, I demand this and this and this, not him saying What a beautiful plan.
That’s kind of virtue signalling too, Sam.
Thank you for your numbered explanation, Owen.
HarleyLady I just DONT BELIEVE we will ever see phase 2&3, we have been down that road SO MANY times before!!!
