Ryancare is a rearranging of Obamacare and does not repeal the power given to Fedzilla over everyone’s health care.
Repeal for real means removing the Federal government from a central role and control of everyone’s medical records.
It is a mistake for Trump to bet his whole Presidency on this bad bill.
Spicer was explaining them at length all last week.
It seems many commenting never listened.
No, No, No, there is nothing to negotiate with Obamacare. Obamacare was not created with a negotiation and must be repealed without negotiation. In negotiation, both sides get some of what they want but not everything. All of obamacare must be removed. Negotiating simply dilutes the goal Obamacare repeal. Republicans do not have to negotiate they are in total control. Trump did not run promising to Negotiate Obamacare. There is nothing sacred about negotiating. Would you negotiate with someone who broke into your home, i.e. if you promise to leave I will not call the police? Keep in mind, Trump know nothing about healthcare, foreign policy, global events, energy etc. nor does he need to. He was successful in trick screwing enough people into voting for him as all politicians do, but that doesn’t make him qualified to opine on any subject. Trump is doing a great job, but he gets his info from those around him. He wouln’t intentially or willing offend his base, its just that he doesn’t really know how to do this political stuff. I’m all in on Trump, but he is very ignorant about the position he is in.
I think we should have learned our lesson after the Reagan-era amnesty. Congress promised border enforcement after amnesty, and promptly forgot the promise once their bill was passed. Expect the same for “parts 2 and 3”.
It’s not in it’s final form, why do people ignore what Trump said;
“Our wonderful new Healthcare Bill is now out for review and negotiation.”
That’s exactly what I thought too....glad I’m not alone!
Then why did Trump say “Our wonderful new Healthcare Bill is now out for review and negotiation.”??
Part II is supposed to be having the Secretary of Human Services reduce the impact through regulation and part III is supposed to be a showdown in 2020 over real changes to Obamacare just in time for the election.
Almost seems like it was designed to cost Trump re-election.
An example of an absolutist position that doesn’t work in a formal negotiation process. It’s not an example of The Art Of The Deal. So easy to say - a very different thing to execute. So really, it’s not a very helpful position.
I realize that. I get it. What with Ryan pushing hard for his much worse version of ObamaCare. And what with Trump seemingly falling for this RINO trap by demanding support for it - the obvious conculsion is that we are so screwed.
Is it really enough - as many here are doing - to trust Trump and hope he is going all "Art of the Deal" here and when all is said and done - we have neither ObamaCare nor RyanCare?
I don't think so.
My only question is whether ANY bill can pass the Senate.
I think this thing gets through the House. It will lose a number of right wingers but keep enough to pass.
But I think the Senate, even with a much different bill, will be hard to pass.
I wonder whether Rand Paul is actually opposed to Ryan’s bill because of how much welfare money Kentucky will lose under it. Just a thought.
1. Buying insurance will NOT be mandatory.
2. People will be put back on 40 hour work weeks.
3. There is no penalty payable to the IRS.
Please note....when you buy any insurance, prices vary. The insurance premium for a BMW is not the same as a 2005 Buick.
Life insurance....the rate is different at age 25 and age 60.
IIRC, the government got a piece of EVERY policy written under Obamacare.
Starting from a bad bill is no way to get to a good one.
Well, remember, the most negative impact of Obamacare was designed to be implemented in the 2015- 2016 time period. They knew it would cost a fortune and cheat The working class out of their healthcare. I would like to see parts one and two when I have time.
3. There is no penalty payable to the IRS.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The penalty is now paid to the insurance companies.
If you were to lose a job and the insurance with it and it took 3 months to find another, you will pay 30% more in premium for one year, substantially more than you would have owed the IRS.
“Do you seriously think Trump is getting fooled by Ryan?”
No.
As great as Trump is on some topics, he has always spoken highly of federal entitlement. And of the gov’t doing “beautiful” things for people. He is not opposed to big govt in the way conservatives are supposed to be, he just wants it more efficient.
How can you say it's Ryan's when Trump is supporting it??
Do you really think Trump is stupid enough to fall into a RINO trap?
I think the bill is as much Trump's as Ryan's, probably more Trump's than Ryan's. Calling it RyanCare is a absolutist label. It commits the logical fallacy “too few alternatives”.
“he has always spoken highly of federal entitlement”
Examples please.
LETTER TO LOCAL CONGRESSMAN & PAUL RYAN
Dear Honorable US Representative ...,
Sir, since I got out of the US Army four years ago my health insurance premiums with BC/BS have gone from $450 per month to over $2200 per month for a family of four (and our deductibles are over $5K). This is not sustainable for our family.
We need the Republicans in Congress to do what they promised - a FULL REPEAL OF OBAMACARE - PERIOD!!!
We have a historic opportunity and it’s time to go back to the old system and encourage cost savings, negotiations with doctors and drug companies, tort reform, and other measures to lower costs to patients and doctors.
RINO’s in Congress are so concerned about people losing their coverage - these include:
1) 11+ millions illegals
2) 6-10 million under the age of 26 and living with parents
3) under 8 million chronically ill (another program can be put in place for them)
It’s time to quit pandering to these people and start SERVING hard working AMERICANS.
Why is Speaker Ryan introducing a different bill, why not one of the previous ones to get rid of Obamacare? I think he is afraid to do the right thing and do what he promised the American people for years.
Sir, for the good of our country please do what you can to settle for nothing less than a FULL REPEAL OF OBAMACARE.
Sincerely,
