With a new movie about King Kong coming out, a whole segment on NPR was devoted to proving that the fictional King Kong monster is actually a commentary on black people. The show interviewed Robin Means Coleman, a professor of Afro-American studies at the University of Michigan who specializes in studying King Kong.
Yes, you read that right: a professor of Afro-American studies whose specialty is ... King Kong.

This is ridiculous. Yes, in the past, some racists have compared blacks to monkeys. But that does not mean that all portrayals of monkeys are about black people.
In the original Planet of the Apes movie, the main chimpanzee was played by Roddy McDowall, whose voice was obviously very white-sounding (and more than a little gay). No one said the Planet of the Apes movies were about black people.
In Star Wars, the character of Chewbacca is obviously monkey-related. But no one says Chewbacca is a slur on black people.
Is Disney's Jungle Book racist for having a monkey in it? Is Tarzan racist as well? And what about computer games like "Donkey Kong"? Is "Donkey Kong" a game made by racists who want to give white people the ability to make black people jump in the air repeatedly?

Gosh, I bet it'd be a blast to have coffee with her.
And congratulations, black women...your capacity to always make it about you ties you with gay white men for the national PleaseGoTheHellAway title.
Sometimes a gorilla is just a gorilla
This is everywhere. I learned it at work.
I had a boss that just hated someone that slept at work. Found out it’s what he did before being promoted.
I had a coworker that just hated dopers. He wound up spending time in the pen for being a dealer.
Had another boss that hated liars. This guy lied so often he probably even believed his own lies.
So yes, when someone accuses you of something out of the blue that has you befuddled, chances are they are guilty of it themselves.
For sure, libs are racist and are more apt to think of Blacks as apes.
Nope.

The overwhelming force that comes from the sea and destroys Tokyo.
...and later becomes Japan's protector.
It's how impervious Japan coped with their defeat and rebirth.
They’re comparing black people to a giant ape?
Sounds racist to me.
King Kong’s sperm had to be the size of dachshunds. Imagine the poor white woman being chased by them, thousands of them.
nope.... Zombies are the code word for blacks. Think about it.
How low is Kong’s pants?
Wow.
Do you have to belong to a club or something to get to vote for that?
I’d like to be in the electorate for that.
