[it] does not eliminate Obamacare’s individual mandate.

Right-eo. The roll-out is very deceptive in character.

That's like saying their retirement plan should be just like mine.

The reality is that the government purchases a plan for certain groups of Federal Employees. If buying insurance is no longer mandatory, what are they supposed to buy? They're already buying.

I’m calling B.S on paying a fee to the insurance companies. You aren’t forced to buy it so you’re not forced to pay a fee. It’s a dumb provision to be sure but that’s a far cry from a mandate. How is a tax credit socialism? Tax Credit = tax payer keeps tax dollars. What am I missing here?

Under Ryan’s plan, those who not comply, pay a fee to the insurance companies.

Ah, how clever. The government gets its tax/fee/penalty/vig/whateveritscalledtoday out of us through the insurance companies. Plausible denyataxability.

What if this is all part of Trump's plan?

Get Ryan to create something that's similar to Obamacare and hope that Dems won't support it. They're not, so now they can introduce a real healthcare reform package that will get Dems up for re-election and conservatives on board and get it passed.

I don't think Trump is going to sign something that's actually worse than Obamacare. I read Pollack's column on Breitbart about this and it all makes sense. I still support full repeal though.

Hey Sarah — tell it to Trump since you have his ear. Trump is supporting the bill.

Is it possible that the Rinos have both Trump and Pence snowed under? They both have said how good it is, and urged its approval, as Stage 1, of 3 Stages. However, I agree 1,000% that every jot and tittle MUST apply to EVERY critter in government.

Republicans are dead in the water of health care. Health care requires government money and they can’t deal with that type of bill. That’s democratic territory. The Republican dilemma is that public wants this coverage. Health care is vital for families at a reasonable cost. It’s a middle class need and Republicans want middle class support. Well they have to do it the old fashioned way - they got to earn it. They have bit off more than they want to chew.

I agree with Sarah, but:

- Congress will never put themselves under RINOCARE.

- Congress will never subject themselves to “term limits.

- Congress will never vote themselves “pay cuts”.

- Congress will never reduce their pensions.

- Congress will never pass “line item veto”.

So, we might as well shut up about Congress doing anything detrimental to themselves (even though, better for Americans).

We need to start this mantra, FULL REPEAL, OR NO DEAL.

Politically speaking we may be well past the point where market driven health care will ever come back.

I base this on a simple aspect of human nature - and it’s this. Once you give away bennies, you will have hell to pay if you ever take them away.

Who here in freeperland truly believes that...

1. the subsidies that millions of “low income” people are getting will ever be taken away

2. preexisting conditions won’t in one form or another be covered

3. emergency room service won’t be provided for free to anyone who doesn’t have insurance.

4. that kids up to 26 won’t be covered under their parents

5. that birth control won’t be covered

Palin complains about people being forced to get health insurance. I’m all in favor of letting people decide if they want to buy insurance, but only under the condition that if they get sick the hospitals or anyone else are not mandated to have to take care of them.

(By the way that law that mandates that emergency rooms must take care of whoever shows up regardless of whether they can pay was signed into law by Reagan. That was the start of skyrocketing medical costs. It’s a blatant case of being generous with other people’s money)

Why blame Trump? Conservatives elected Ryan as Speaker and leader.

Why don’t they oust Ryan? And start fresh.

"It just shifts the mandate—which requires all Americans to purchase a health insurance plan even if they do not want one."

As a side note to this thread, please consider the following.

A constitutional problem with insurance is explained as follows.

If I understand correctly, the feds are still prohibiting insurance companies from selling insurance across state borders. The problem with this federal restriction is that the states have never expressly constitutionally delegated to the feds the specific power to regulate insurance, regardless if buyer and seller are domiciled in different states.

As evidence of this, note that a previous generation of state sovereignty-respecting justices had clarified that insurance policies are contracts and that the scope of Congress’s Commerce Clause powers (1.8.3) do not include regulating contracts.

"4. The issuing of a policy of insurance is not a transaction of commerce within the meaning of the latter of the two clauses, even though the parties be domiciled in different States, but is a simple contract [emphases added] of indemnity against loss.” —Paul v. Virginia, 1869. (The corrupt feds have no Commerce Clause (1.8.3) power to regulate insurance.)

So the RINOcare insurance mandate respects neither the Constitution or the free market.

Drain the swamp! Drain the swamp!

Remember in November ’18 !

Since Trump entered the ’16 presidential race too late for patriots to make sure that there were state sovereignty-respecting candidates on the primary ballots, patriots need make sure that such candidates are on the ’18 primary ballots so that they can be elected to support Trump in draining the unconstitutionally big federal government swamp.

Such a Congress will also be able to finish draining the swamp with respect to getting the remaining state sovereignty-ignoring, activist Supreme Court justices off of the bench.

Noting that the primaries start in Iowa and New Hampshire in February ‘18, patriots need to challenge candidates for federal office in the following way.

Patriots need to qualify candidates by asking them why the Founding States made the Constitution’s Section 8 of Article I; to limit (cripple) the federal government’s powers.

Patriots also need to find candidates that are knowledgeable of the Supreme Court's clarifications of the federal government’s limited powers listed below.
