President Trump scolded conservative groups speaking out about the Republican plan to repeal and replace ObamaCare, a report on Thursday said.
This is going to be great. Youre going to make it even greater. Im going to work hard to get it done, Trump told the gathering of conservative leaders this week, CNN reported, citing sources who attended the hour-long meeting.
He also warned the groups including the Club for Growth, the Heritage Foundation, Americans for Prosperity, FreedomWorks and the Tea Party Patriots that they are helping the other side with their remarks about the GOP plan, which they derided as ObamaCare Lite, according to the report.
Trump, who was joined by White House advisers Steve Bannon and Kellyanne Conway and Chief of Staff Reince Priebus, also said he would pressure lawmakers opposing repeal and replace by campaigning against them in their home districts.

Oh for dumb. Read 40. You are proposing a leap trough mid-air from the path called reality to a different one.
About as practical, realistic, and possible as a cow jumping over the moon.
Truth in advertising, Mr. President.
I get it— negotiate. But please— from strength and well established homework. Not forced errors out of being in a political hurry, driven by greedy statist lobbyists. We don’t have to lose the current “gibs me dats” on the subsidy— so we won’t have their whining, and can give them their “path” to follow into the non-obamaumaocare plan. Physicians can tell us all how this is. Price HHS should be a help.
House Senate conference, clearly. But make sure the devilish details are ALL ironed out— we’ve had 8 years of absolute dreck.
Bottom line, Trump is going to do some things I don’t like & I knew that going in when I voted for him, but the overall positives of having him as President outweighed the negatives and I wish people criticizing Trump would keep that in mind. The details of repeal/replace may be one of those items where I’m not as happy as I’d like to be at the end of the day, but at this point, it’s way too early & too much is up in the air for me to know for sure. Brat is my Rep - a great one - and I agree with him/Rand Paul. That being said, I am trusting Trump because I do believe he is trying to do the best he can for America. He’s got slimeballs like Ryan & his RINO/GOPe cabal and a less than America-first Congress he HAS to deal with so nothing is going to be perfect. Do I let Brat know what I think? Yes, I do so that’s where I can get some small satisfaction participating in the process.
I’m personally not fighting with anyone over this stuff on FR or otherwise, especially when an Opposition Party story is what’s muddying up the water. Sure, there is contention among the Repubs on this - I’m not saying there isn’t a catfight to some degree, but the Opposition Party will lie to super-size whatever dissension/discussion/negotiating is going on & they get a two-fer that damages Trump & the Repubs for throwing out the bait & having folks snap it up as being the ‘reality on the ground’. Fool me once, shame on you - fool me twice, shame on me/us .... and the Oppo Party/media has demonstrated repeatedly beyond a reasonable doubt that they are not a reliable purveyor of genuine or accurate news. Personally, I’ll wait to hear the details, in person, from a non-media source who is one of the parties actually involved in the process. I also have a sneaking suspicion that Trump might surprise folks with being fairly good at herding cats.
“negotiate. But please from strength and well established homework.”
Trump isn’t doing that?
People seem to be wanting everything THEY want and NOW. No patience for the process to work out. I’m talking about people here on FR crucifying Trump because it’s not a complete repeal per THEIR definition of repeal.
Thanks.
IIRC, Ryan’s was one of the names on the list of people on Soros’ payroll. That was 2-3 months ago, I think.
If Trump pushes this plan, it just tells us he’s OK with being a one-term President. Good to know, I guess.
:-)
Didn’t I read right here on FR a few weeks ago that the (TRUMP) IRS is now not enforcing the Mandate portion of Obamacare?
If so, that was one of the biggest complaints of Obamacare thanks to the SCOTUS rewriting the Bill turning a Penalty into a Tax.
A Repeal without an actual Repeal.
Be careful of Paul. He can seem trustworthy on some things and he may indeed be trustworthy on some things.
But he is not clean and pure, far from it. But he knows how to talk the talk and fool a lot of folks.
Note how he was bought off in the effort to remove congressional Obamacare exemptions and subsidies in 2015:
He first supported and then turned on the Senate fraud investigation causing it to die in committee. That is not the act of a trustworthy person.
I posted about this many times and saw him for a typical republican weasel which he is.
I would just caution to be careful not to put all trust in political weasels.
Remember what candidate Trump said, “they are all bought and paid for, they are all controlled”.
People who own businesses and have been burning capital to support the illegal law... impatience driven by the ripoff, and we can’t expand with the employer mandate.
IF they read...
I like that simple definition of repeal. Goes to show everyone seems to have a different definition of repeal.
Trump wants coverage on parents plan to 26, no pre-existing denial, coverage for those too poor to pay “no one is going to die in the street”. etc. He said those things over and over. Yet some here on FR include the elimination of those in their definitions of repeal.
The road to hell is paved with good intentions, so they say.
The President has fallen into the same sort of utopian thinking (on this issue) that is resonsible for building the entitlement state and leviathan government, which have become an absolute tyranny over us all, and has reduced a formerly free people to slaves of the elites and the non-productive class.
This is a moment where we must genuinely reflect on our shared American principles of individual liberty, and judge the proposed solutions of our representatives in that light.
If their solutions violate the fundamentals of those concepts which undergird the Framers' construction, then we must reject those solutions, no matter what loyalty we may harbor towards our leaders or the party.
Good post.
Dave Brat is my representative as well.
Isn’t it great not having a weasel who would be selling us Ryancare?
We ditched our weasel in 2014, his name was Eric Cantor.
He was the Republican Majority Leader.
If we hadn’t Cantorized him in June or 2014 the House was going to pass Rubio’s Gang of Amnesty bill to clear the path for Yeb!
My Rep. is now Dave Brat. I am so glad I don’t have Eric Cantor telling me how wonderful this bill is.
If their solutions violate the fundamentals of those concepts which undergird the Framers’ construction, then we must reject those solutions, no matter what loyalty we may harbor towards our leaders or the party.

Trump needs the conservatives in Congress. If they vote as a block the GOPE and Trump get nothing they want without Democrat votes and I don’t see those materializing.
I suspect this bill will change. The regulations of obamacare have to go period, otherwise it is a waste of time and effort.
Ryan and most of those pushing this bill in the house, and those hiding behind alleged rules to support it in the Senate, were big, early pro-Trump forces? If anything they all wanted Jebby! When the anti-Trump GOPe come out in force and sing in unison how GOOD the replacement bill is I look at the bill with much doubt.
It was probably written by Gruber.
What’s he been up to lately, anyway?
