President Trump scolded conservative groups speaking out about the Republican plan to repeal and replace ObamaCare, a report on Thursday said.
This is going to be great. Youre going to make it even greater. Im going to work hard to get it done, Trump told the gathering of conservative leaders this week, CNN reported, citing sources who attended the hour-long meeting.
He also warned the groups including the Club for Growth, the Heritage Foundation, Americans for Prosperity, FreedomWorks and the Tea Party Patriots that they are helping the other side with their remarks about the GOP plan, which they derided as ObamaCare Lite, according to the report.
Trump, who was joined by White House advisers Steve Bannon and Kellyanne Conway and Chief of Staff Reince Priebus, also said he would pressure lawmakers opposing repeal and replace by campaigning against them in their home districts.

I heard a Rand Paul radio interview on Tuesday. He stated that he had a good relationship with Trump, had talked to him several times, & Trump was interested in his ideas regarding repeal/replace and was listening to what he had to say. Rand was very upbeat and positive in his comments on this topic. Last night, Trump met with the Freedom Caucus. Trump likes smart people with good ideas and one of his greatest assets, per people who know him personally & who have worked with him in the private sector, is that he is a GOOD listener. Of course, the enemedia want the Republicans to have a public catfight over Obamacare & if it’s not happening, they’ll make one up .... just as they want to portray the WH as being in utter chaos & a disaster. When I hear news about repeal/replace from Rand Paul, Dave Brat, etc. and/or Trump himself (speaking in a serious venue, not tweeting), then I’ll believe what I’m hearing. The media/enemedia/presstitutes/Opposition Party have NO credibility with me any more.
NY Post sourcing CNN so CNN can spread clusterfruck. I wait for reputable sourcing.
We've kind of known this all along, but might have been hoping it wasn't true.
In any case, I believe Trump is not opposed to government health care, or government managed health care insurance. And I believe he holds that view with the noblest intention- that anyone who is sick should have access to health care services. He's trying to re-work the system so that it's not as punitive to hard-working people, and companies.
In the long run, while I am opposed to government-mandated health insurance, I trust Trump on enough of his other agenda that I would support him on this.
Ultimately, if we can get more and more people working good jobs, and caring for their families, the less of an issue this becomes, and the health insurance companies will have a more stable environment to offer competitive insurance rates.
Repeal and replace with free markets free of government regulation in helathcare, free market competition , private ownership in all phases of healthcare that's called capitalism.

I’m hoping this is true and that Trump is playing the Dems and RINOs.
That’s a post worth remembering for everyone on FreeRepublic.
Ayn Rand on why socialism can never work;
http://aynrandlexicon.com/lexicon/socialism.html
The essential characteristic of socialism is the denial of individual property rights; under socialism, the right to property (which is the right of use and disposal) is vested in society as a whole, i.e., in the collective, with production and distribution controlled by the state, i.e., by the government.
Socialism may be established by force, as in the Union of Soviet Socialist Republicsor by vote, as in Nazi (National Socialist) Germany. The degree of socialization may be total, as in Russiaor partial, as in England. Theoretically, the differences are superficial; practically, they are only a matter of time. The basic principle, in all cases, is the same.
The alleged goals of socialism were: the abolition of poverty, the achievement of general prosperity, progress, peace and human brotherhood. The results have been a terrifying failureterrifying, that is, if ones motive is mens welfare.
Instead of prosperity, socialism has brought economic paralysis and/or collapse to every country that tried it. The degree of socialization has been the degree of disaster. The consequences have varied accordingly.
How far do you advocate going with getting government out of HC??
That cat’s out of the bag, never to be put back in again.
“Government involvement in healthcare is the problem”
Think about it, should we eliminate government involvement in HC - Medicare, Medicaid, VA, Active Military, and more?
I’m an Ayn Rand fan but we are too far gone to expect government to completely get out of HC. The theory is great, the execution of it is practically impossible. Another one of those things that so easy to say, but so hard to do.
reposted because I made a typo: laws that protect from use of force
Obamacare cannot be fixed. It cannot be fixed.
There are two choices:
Repeal Obamacare and replace it with a brand new free market based system.
-or-
If that is not realistically doable of is just too much trouble for today’s politicians to handle, then just walk away completely and let it die on its own.
Then put in place a brand new free market based system afterwards.
Look at the repeal/replace conversation that’s taking place here on FR. We don’t need the “enemedia” making anything up, some people here are doing a great job of it on their own! They ARE having a fight with a cat that’s practically impossible to put back in the bag. These people have little credibility with me.
Trump isn’t able to work miracles, and some here are crucifying him because he isn’t working the miracle of completely removing government from HC.
It’s so easy to set an impossible goal (like completely remove government from HC) then snipe from the sidelines when Trump doesn’t do it.
Did you watch Spicer’s press briefings the last two days?
That theory is fine. We live in reality. What do you propose to make that theory reality?? Pretend you are Trump, lay out your plan.
What, like the people who have analyzed and come up with brilliant freeing plans instead of the Chamber of Commerce. Like the Heritage Foundation? Or the pointed precise Mark Levin? Ryan is a snake- a Boehner snake. And Boehner (hiccup) still caddying for PHARMA, with his butt-boy minion Scalise with the clever con-man choice of negatives ploy. The democrats have won. Rep. Jordan is correct— vote to repeal. The funding is in place to allow the transition.
Not buying this. With a simple majority and a phased transition for all currently under the broken obamaumaocare “plans” -funds for which can be provided in the interim and coverage not lost— a completely market driven setup, with insurance sold across state lines and NOT medicaid for all— could drive down care prices, subsidized medical stocks prices, hospital “non-care” and all of the other way over inflated “costs” being ratcheted and passed on. It can be done. We should no longer support a brit national health care that was doomed to failure and is failing, and intended as such- to fail.
>After witnessing the #NeverTrumpers come out in force and sing in unison how bad the replacement bill was, I have to give the President the benefit of the doubt.
>Wherever #NeverTrumpers appear on an issue, there is an immediate suspicion of their position, and the issue risks being discredited because of them.
Yep. #nevertrumpers never stop lying. They blew all their credibility trying to get Hillary elected.
On the other hand, I trust Rand Paul on healthcare and Paul appears to be busy trying to make changes to the bill rather than #NEVERTRUMPING around.
Repeal all laws(and corresponding regulations) at every level of Government that were passed after 1900.Go back to the Constitution before the 16th Amendment. the constitution actually works .
there are ROOMS full of pages of government laws and regulations all passed after 1900 . Trying to fix that is impossible . Start over .Reset.
Government regulations only increase costs and cripple businesses. Regularly every week or so governments at all 3 levels pile on more laws and regulations especially on healthcare. as a result of that an operations costs $80,000. it's not in spite of those room fulls of regulations but becauseo that crap that the costs are so high.
An android phone $9 has more computing power than the world did in 1970 . That's because less gov regulations in electronics.
Politicians and unelected government bureaucrats know only one say to "fix" things more laws and more government regulations. And that is problem as Reagan said.
Like Trump tweeted, the bill opens HC for negotiation.
So negotiate.
We live on a path called reality. We cannot leap up in the air and magically land on a completely different path. We can take steps in a different direction. That’s all we can do. It’s foolish to create impossible theoretical goals then crucify Trump because he can’t execute them.
